We have many rats needing homes at Huron Valley Rat Rescue in Ypsilanti, MI. All of these rats (except Mulberry) are from the huge Danville rescue that took place a month ago. They're doing great, and need good, loving homes! Most of these rats will be spayed or neutered, age permitting - adoption fee is $20.
I have a transport pending to Lafayette, IN, and I have transport set up to Pittsburgh, PA. I may be able to arrange transport elsewhere. I also will ship rats by Continental Air only, at adopter's expense (not bad, if you factor in a rat spay/neuter!)
Boys
Whiskey - about 5-7 months, quiet, gentle, very handsome. A little reserved at first, but warms up quickly. Sizeable guy.
Neutered.
SoCo - about 5-7 months, probably Whiskey's brother. A bit more outgoing than Whiskey, gonna be a big kiddo, too! Neutered.
Girls
Jenna: About 4-5 months. Started off skittish, but is becoming a love-bug.
She is getting more friendly by the day, and is SO gorgeous.
Cheyenne: About 3-4 months. A little shy, but curious girl, beautiful markings. Learning to hand-wrestle.
Nellie: about 3 months old. Darling girl, on the skittish side.
Nina: About 3 mos old. Beautiful, silly girl, shy but getting more social.
Lena: About 3 mos old. A little nervous. Adorable.
Mulberry: Born Oct 29th. Beige self rex girl (velveteen, or "poor rex"). Absolutely HUGE for her age!!! Last remaining girlie of the Dore' bunch - mom came to us from a shelter with her weaned litter, 10-day old litter, and pregnant to boot.
She's in a bratty adolescent stage right now, and is a pain to get to come out of her cage and acts like I'm evil, but once she's out she's much better behaved.
(and thanks to ShadowWolf for taking some of the pics for me)

I am interested in one of Lucy's girls, possibly the second one that you have pictured here. Also, I live in southern WI, would there be any way we could meet somewhere so I didn't have to drive the full distance? She is absolutely adorable! When will they be available for adoption, or are they ready now?? you can email me if you'd like with any questions. my email is
1doglover90298@charter.net
Thanks!

Where in southern WI? The girl you mentioned was reserved tonight, but there are still the two black variberk girls (both have tiny headspots). I could meet you closer, most likely. They are ready to go home next week.

Greets!
The little fellow with the mask is absolutely priceless! Not sure yet about adopting him (provided you could send him to Ontario, Canada) but I'll ask my husband. Is he still available?
EDIT: Unfortunately, my husband said no. He wants to wait for a rescue closer to home. Sorry... I hope the little beanlets find loving homes soon.

I also sent you an email. When had you arranged transport to Lafayette? I am looking for a couple of male rats.
Thanks,

I was looking on petfinder and I see that Seagram is still there (I think he is awesome looking)...and he was just neutered...is there anyway I could get him and put him with my females? I live in Janesville. I would be will to drive, I am just not to excited about the full 6 hours.
I did send you an email too through petfinder about Seagram. If you could let me know, because he looks like he'd be a great addition to my group! It said that he jumps out of his cage into your arms, my older female is almost like that. I think they'd get along great!
Ok well let me know and that would be awesome!

I will be driving from Indianapolis, IN to Cadillac, MI every weekend from Jan 12th to the middle of March. I can transport from Huron Valley Rescue to Lafayette or wherever on my route. I either head north and go through Chicago or head north and go through Ft Wayne.
I already have a 7 hour drive each way and a strict schedule to follow, but if people can meet me off the highway en route, I can transport.

the lafayette transport was me and a friend. My friend's brakes went out the day before we were going to do the transport... Last I heard they werent fixed yet
If you could do a transport to Lafayette, I'm adopting Lucy.

That is great if it works.. I'm not sure how far I am from the closest part of that route.. Could you email me -

Route #1
Starting at Indianapolis, IN I take I-69 North through Ft Wayne and all the way to Lansing, MI. I then merge onto 127 at Lansing, MI and take that all the way to Houghton Lake, MI.
Route #2
Starting at Indianapolis, IN I take I65 through Lafayette, IN and all the way to approximately Gary, IN (just outside Chicago, IL). At Gary IN, I merge onto 94 which takes me to 196 and travel along the lake Michigan shore to Grand Rapids. At Grand Rapids I merge onto 131 and take that north to Cadillac, MI.
Route #3
Starting at Indianapolis, IN I take I-69 North to Ft Wayne. I will then merge onto 24 and take that all the way to Toledo, OH. In Toledo I will be taking 75 north through Detroit, past Flint, to Bay City, MI. Near Bay City I will be merging onto 10 and driving past Midland to Clare. At Clare I will merge onto 127. I will take 127 north all the way to Houghton Lake, MI.
I prefer to drive the first two routes as they only take about 6.5 hours. I know I will be driving route #3 once and can drive it a second time but it ads over 2 hours to my overall trip so I cannot drive route #3 more than twice due to time constraints. All meeting days will have to be on Saturday or Sunday. I am driving to MI and back to IN every weekend between now and the middle of March.

Whoa! This is perfect for me. I've been looking online tonight for a couple of young females. My youngest rats are going to be 2 years old at the end of May already. I live a mile off of one of the exits on I-196 on EARPS Route#2. Are there still females available? I was planning on calling some of the local animal shelters in my area tomorrow as well because adopting is the only way to go IMO. Plus, I had two unplanned litters almost 2 years ago when I adopted my last two girls...I don't want to go through that again! LOL Even though I love the 7 babies I was able to keep out of the 19 I had...thank goodness for small litters, right? Anyways...I'll look back to see what you two think.
Thanks!

HVRR has shut down temporarily due to illness, that we suspect is SDA. We'll know for sure what it is in about 2-3 weeks. But for now, Kaia's not adopting out anyone from her facility. There are some rats in foster homes, though, that have had no contact with her facility. Including a pair of girls that were just surrendered a couple weeks ago. They're pretty skittish and unsocialized, though sweet.

kellie_1324 and to all on the forum. I transported Lucy for Kaia last weekend and since she is possibly exposed the rats at my house have been potentially exposed. Fortunately there were/are only two rats at my house and they are not showing any symptoms as of yet. However, because I do not want to risk any sort of spread of this disease I am not transporting anymore rats until all rats are in the clear. The rest of EARPS' rats are in Columbia City, IN where they will stay for the time being since none of them have been exposed.

I also have females in Middletown, OH. Im between Cincy and Dayton. I have posted a few pics if anyone is interested. I have 3 black berkshires, 2 himi's, 7 beige, 1 masked. I am in need of finding homes for these gals as I have had unexpected guests in my home, its gotten quite crowded. My best friend and her 3 kids and 3 dogs and 3 rats of her own are now living with me and im not having the time to care for everyone. Funds are really low so transport from my end is not possible at this time. Shes here with no vehicle of her own and trying to keep her job that is out of town. So, im running constantly. Please email me for more information. I will try to get back to you as soon as I can. Im not online as much now either. But I do need to find homes for these gals. Thanks. Deb~
Ps. These did come from HVRR but about 3 months ago. So they are not at risk for the illness. Also, none are pregnant or even possibly. I took them in to help HVRR out with the abundance of rats from a rescue at that time.
They are all clickable pics. Thanks. Deb~
