results came in and vet called me Sat. Toxicology results show a systematic shutdown of major organs resluting in system failure. To put it simple. They were poisoned. The water contained more then just Radium. High levels of calcium, iron, and several other metals were found in the blood stream and major organs. The only reason Spaz hasn't joined them is because of something the vet had given her. I've already made arangements to have my lawyer involved and to have a private well dug.

I am very sorry about your loss.

Are you sure its not radon?
My house has a problem with radon as well but the city paid for a filter to be installed in the basement. Its a wierd device and has alarms that go off every once and a while. Your lawyer should get the water company to pay for the device.

I looked it up on wikipedia and radium turns into radon. I still think whoever supplies your water should be responsible unless of course they told you before you started service that their water was contaminated. Sorry not the time for sarcasm.

the house that I own I bought from my parents...so basically I've lived here all my life. And granted in the past there have been problems with the water company/tax district  but nothing involving any contamination. The water system is 10 yrs older than the houses that sit on it. They fight tooth and nail about having the old meters swapped out because they give the wrong readings. By the time they put a filter on the house it will be after court procedings and 5 years from now. I'm waiting to hear from the attorney about what to do.

I'm so sorry to hear your girls were poisoned.  It's heartbreaking.  I'm thinking about you, and hoping you figure everything out you need to do.

Anger would be my first reaction that a 'trusted' water board could let this happen  Angry  Then tears that my beloved pets have gone  Cry  Thankfully Spaz was saved  Heart  I'm sure your legal people will guide you accordingly on the best action to take, but please give them some grief from me too.

I hope your appointment with the doc clears you of anything untoward too. Smiley  Play well at the bridge little ones, thanks for letting you mum know of this horrible danger and don't forget to visit her every so often.  Heart

SOmething still doesn't set right that the water could have had this result, unless something drastically changed with water that you had just put in their cage recently.   While the necropsy results point to poisoning, did it identify the toxin?  Calcium and iron and various metals are fairly normaly components of water.  Does your vet know what Spaz was given that has protected her?  Have you had bloodwork done on Spaz to confirm she hasn't been affected, just reacting much more slowly?  What about the bunnies?

The fact that all 3 died at the same time without any sign of prior illness would make me very suspicious that whatever killed them was something sudden that they were exposed to shortly before they died.  Some type of acute poisoning rather than chronic.   If they free-range at all, I'd suggest going through that room with a fine-toothed comb and make sure they didn't find something to eat, or possibly get exposed to insecticide or something like that inadvertently through an open window or wayward bug they ate, or whatever.

I guess I'm just suggesting that you make sure you've considered all possibilities before you assume it was the water.     It's an easy target and it seems easy to believe when you just got that notice.  But what would you be thinking if this had happened before you got the notice?  You're going to need a pretty clear proof that the water directly caused the deaths before you have any legal ground.  And more importantly, I'd hate for you to get locked in on blaming the water and miss some other possibility that could still be endangering you and your family.

Good luck finding answers and getting results.
