Due to an unfortunate chain of events, I have ended with two female rats that I can not keep. To be specific, I do not have them personally, but they are at my place of work. From what we were told one of the rats is older (14 months) and one younger (7/8 months). They came to us in a TINY cage. I have managed to get them in a bigger (but still not really big enough) cage and better food. The older rat is very very sweet and tame. She will sit on your shoulder and crawl all over you. You can put her down on the floor and she doesn't try to get away. The other girl is much more aggressive. She will lunge at and bite you when you put your hand in the cage. Once you get her out she stops biting and will let you hold her. However if she gets on the floor she is gone.

Is transport available? And what do they look like? Many people will want to know Smiley Perhaps if you could get them up here towards us at RRR, although I don't know if I could handle a biting one right now.. I don't just hold physical scars from the last one we had here. We had to eventually have him PTS and it still haunts me.

Hi,
I just wanted to mention that the GARMCA has a very good rescue program. We look for homes for those who need to surrender thier rats and facilitate an adoption. The rats are adopted through the organization so all potential adopters are screened and keep in touch with throughout the life of the rats. If transport is available (like to Atlanta, Georgia)then we can help you find a good home for your girls here in GA. Currently we have a few people who are looking for older rescue females. We typically do not deal with biting cases as we do not have the resources for them but we can see what we can do. Please email me at daratter@hotmail.com so I can get you in touch with the rescue coordinator for your area.
