So, I'm trying Tylan. If you opt out of the 1/8 in the water method, you're supposed to use 1/64th tsp. in food. I understand that... but how many times a day? Only once or twice???

I can't find ANY site that explains that! All they talk about is mixing it with water every 3 days... blah blah blah. But what if you mix it with food? How many times a day should the rat be dosed??

Does anyone know?

RMCA and ratguide etc etc doesn't say!!!

*please don't combine with my tylan/baytril/draxxin thread, this is a different question!!*

Did you read the Ratguide article on Tylosin, which is the actual name of the medication? A simple search for Tylan pulls up the Tylosin article, which clearly states the dosage and how often you should give it.

No, that doesn't say the information I need to know.

It says "use 1/8th in water every 3 days" OR "1/64th in food"

BUT is that 1/64th in the food TWICE a day? or ONCE a day?

that's what i need to know.

Again, a simple search on the conversion and calculation chart on Ratguide : BID   twice a day

Oh, hmm.. I thought BID stood for something else. They should put the key on the same page! lol. I actually just thought BID was a citation of some sort because when I clicked on the thingy next too it, it took me to a reference page.

Shouldn't your vet have given you that information already? And I thought you said that you already tried the Tylan before the Draxxin...at least that's what the thread title made it look like...
