So Winx seemed to be doing a lot better last week and I decided she has waited long enough for a cagemate. I avoided the small local pet shop that sold me Winx and went to PetSmart (where I was VERY impressed: no feeders, only females so no breeding problems, and the animals were treated so well when I was there-no holding by the tail, etc.) and got her a friend AND a new cage for the two of them. The cage is at least 2 or 3 times the size of Winx's original and they both seem to like it. The girl I got is white with a beige hood - adorable! Winx is around 2 months and the new rattie is a lot smaller than her although the employee said she is about 4 months - it seems impossible. There was some fighting at first but so far they've been doing good. The new rattie is very calm and not skittish. Winx has been climbing all over me whenever she's been out (the first time she's ever done that all on her own) and they've been doing a lot of cuddling. I'm still looking at names for the new rat: Nudges (Winx and Nudges - how cute is that?), Pixie, Penny Lane. I can't decide and don't have pictures of her yet but any suggestions will be appreciated. I'm also in the process of decorating the new cage since it's so big than my last and will have pictures of that up too soon.
Anyways, just very excited about my new addition!
