Holy----! I can't believe they chewed the FN pan! I don't think I'll complain about my girls ripping hammocks/fleece bedding anymore, since that's all they chew.  *Looks over at girlies who are now smiling angelically.*

Well I'm glad the Horde can make others appreciate their slightly less destructive ratmonsters...

I really need to ask, and very sorry to change the subject, but you have 13 rats... does it ever stink? I am just so paranoid about my room and thier cage ever really stinking because I don't want my dad to get upset because he is sooooo set on the fact that RATS ARE GROSS AND THEY STINK. I am constantly spot cleaning because the new baby boys are not used to the litter pan yet, and I am constantly taking biiiggg whiffs in my room or while I'm walking into my room. My boyfriend thinks I've gone mad because my every question every other few minutes is... "does it stink? can you smell anything? Should I clean the cage again? and blah blah blah" I clean every week. So yea, just wondering, I would really appreciate your opinion and answer. I can never smell a bad thing, neither does my sis, mom, cuz or boyfriend... it's just my dad. So yea, thanks and sorry for changing the subject. Vanessa- Stinky Pinky- Lame Brain- Cosmo- Kramer.

Actually Lilspaz has 33 rats    But 13 rats comprise "The Horde".  I will let her answer for herself on smells but I can tell you about myself personally.  I have 15 rats in 3 different cages in my livingroom and if I don't keep their cages clean then yes they smell.  But I clean cages 2 times a week.  Mid week it is just a spot clean and then I really scrub everything on the weekend.  My cages don't smell if I keep them clean.  I have in fact has people come into my home and comment that they are amazed.  They can't even tell I have rats in my home and if the cages were not there they would not know.  It also matters what kind of cages you havel, what kind of bedding you use, how many rats are in a cage etc.
