I am hoping to find a couple (2-4) rats close to Springfield MO.  Sex doesnt matter as long as they are all the same.  Color is also unimportant, but I prefer no PEWs.  I have 2 5 month old boys, but have another cage if only females are available.  Will have a loving rattie friendly home.  I am of course willing to pay an adoption fee if needed.  I would also be happy to provide you with pictures of where they would be living, and updates too.  I have been searching for a breeder in my area and can not find one.  My only option seems to be the pet stores, but their rats are never friendly, not even the young ones.  My 2 boys are from there, and while I love both dearly, neither are friendly (they dont bite, but are VERY shy and scared when handled).  I would love to find a few babies that are used to being handled.

Thank you in advance!!

Thank you very much.  I emailed a breeder in Lebanon and hope to hear back!!  Many of those breeders are no longer breeding, which was my problem.  I really appreciate your help, wish me luck!!

Have you seen this breeder? Don't know a whole lot about them, but they are in KC.

How soon do you want them? I might be able to get som Ojai rats (see thread in Adoptions) into MO and transport to Springfield is doable for me. I'm not sure when they'll come through.. in April sometime?

Edit 3/22
I was just informed that someone near me needs to place 2 young males. One is a 3 month old himi born December 9 2006 and another is a black variberk about 6-7 mos old. He's the father of the himi. Long story short, I helped this guy place the babies because he's wouldn't take my word about the female being able to get pregnant if she's housed with the male. She got pregnant, babies were gonna go who knows where so I placed them all, and gave a himi back to the owner for Papa rat to have companionship. Now the owner is leaving for CA and abandoning the rats that are gonna go to a pet store. I'll be taking them in to look for a home, but my brother is in town right now from Springfield and he'd probably take them back to meet you. Please let me know ASAP. Their adoption fees are $10 each, what I placed the babies for to ensure good homes. I've put alot of time and expense (10 lbs of rat food, 2 cages, gas to and from the house a few times a week for a month and then feeding 14 babies for a month until they all found homes) into these rats so I'm definately not making any money off them!
