Hello!

With the earliest due date rapidly approaching (the 30th!), both TEK Crazy Bee and TEK Gen- Mai Cha are gaining weight readily!  The girls are as calm and lovely as ever, and have both taken to nest building.  Bee has chosen the fluffy route, while Gen-Mai is sort of trampling down paper towels in a corner - it's very minimalistic in style, yet comfortable looking.

The sire of Bee's litter is TEK Manishevitz , a nice dark american blue guy with a great sociable personality.  The goal of this litter is to continue the excellent type of this line while hopefully re-creating Manishevitz's excellent American Blue coloration in his offspring. Temperament is a given, of course!

Gen-Mai has been paired up with TEK Snowdragon Spirals , a cinnamon Irish rex boy with an amazing rex coat!  Both parents are beyond mellow and adore spending time with any humans who wander into the rat room.  The litter will produce pups in Agouti and Mink based colors, in a *wide* variety of coat types (standard, rex, satin, satin rex, double rex, double rex satin)!  We can't wait to see these little guys!

Onto the belly photos!

Guesses on who will go first (or will they go on the same day?) and eeper counts are welcome!

Lovely girls, and I bet the babies will be just as gorgeous.

My guesses:

Bee first: 8 (3 boys, 5 girls)

Gen-Mai second: 14 (5 boys, 9 girls)

I'm probably waaay off, but I'm guessing a smaller litter for Bee, and a larger one for Gen-Mai.

Awwwwwwww *thud*   they are gorgeous, scritches to your ladies in waiting

As for popping, I think Crazy Bee will be first with maybe 14 pups, 5 boys 9 girls
then Gen-Mai Cha,  I feel she will have a slightly smaller litter....mmmmmm....11 pups 7 boys and 4 girls

Actually I have no idea  Yellow Cute Laugh  just a wild guess, but I do wish them well, up to, during and after their deliveries  Heart

Awwww... pregger tumms  Heart

Is it just me or does Bee's belly look plumper? I think GenMai will have more babies somehow, but Bee looks closer to motherhood

Congratulations to the fellas, and of course the ladies and you, Dan!  Grin

I think Bee will go first.  Her belly looks like it has more "definition."
Numbers...............oh hell.  There will be lots of eeping.

*this guess is based on nothing.  I have a 50% chance of being right, though!*

Any thoughts about how you'll tell what's what? Or will it take another generation to figure out what the parents have?

Awww, those bellies are adorable!  Good luck on the eepers!  I am no good at guessing these things, but I say Bee is first with 11 eepers (8 boys, 3 girls) and Gen-mai will have 10 (5 boys, 5 girls)

Update!

The Momma's are still gaining!  Bee is weighing in at 380g this morning and is in the habit of moving her nest from corner to corner every hour or so.  Gen-Mai is a whopping 415g and is looking HUGE!  She is a very calm calm doe and is enjoying lots of ear scritches.

A very neat piece of info.  If TEK Crazy Bee holds off with her pups until July 4th, she'll be giving birth on her birthday (Which just so happens to be the 4th of July!)

And who said Big wasn't Beautiful!  They are going to either be large litters or they are going to be huge pups.  Cheesy

I need recent belly pics before I can make my final decision on the numbers/sexes in the litters.

Danny, if one or the other of them give birth on 7/4, are you going with a fireworks name theme? Or would that jinx them?

Crazy Bee's litter WAS named after fireworks since she was born on the 4th last year!  I can't repeat my theme

POOR Gen-Mai is a heavy weight!  The scale is tipping at 440g this morning!  She is still as chipper as ever and pokes her head up out of her nest every time I come in the room!  She's doing a ton of sleeping (as can be expected at this point!).

Crazy Bee is 390g and still redecorating.
