Pepper has been gone now a couple weeks and I really would like to add to my single boy colony.  I broke down and adopted a sweet boy from Petco again...he has been in quarentine for a week and we are now into our second week.  But I would like to find out if there are any rescues or breeders in my area...Kansas City, Mo. is the closest big city to us and so far I have not been able to locate any of either.  Anyone here know of anybody?

Thanks Chelsey!  You wouldn't by any chance know how to contact her?  I've tried to join the yahoo group that is run by SpoiledRattenRats, but after a week am still waiting for approval. Undecided

I have adopted from her several years back. I had a healthy sweet little boy from her. I am not sure if she still is breeding. Her website has not been updated in a while.

Thanks lotsorats...that is what I needed to hear..."healthy" that is...LOL!  I did notice that her site hasn't been updated in a while...actually I had looked at her site in early August, but was told by a person here in Lawrence that she didn't think Elizabeth was breeding anymore.  I've emailed her to find out for myself.  If nothing else maybe she can refer me or let me know when she hears about a litter locally.  I appreciate y'all responses! Have you checked petfinder.com?

Yep...occasionally I see some cuties on it, but they are just out of my driving range.  My days are kinda crazy with two young human kids and work...not to mention my current menagerie...LOL!  I will keep looking.  Put in an email to Spoiled RattenRats on the addy I got off the site and have still not heard back yet...nor have I heard anything about getting approved to the Yahoo discussion group they run...and that group seems to be up to date.  Maybe it's one of those deals where I need to keep proding at them...LOL.... :poke:Thanks Heather!

I live in Topeka and go to Lincoln Ne and adopt from STaci at Capital City Rat Rescue.  I beleive she has a couple of girls right now but she gets new rescues frequently.  I go that way every once in awhile and would be willing to bring someone back from you if that ever works out.

I have adopted from Elisabeth also and they ahve been wonderful rats.  We don't tend to be picky so we have adopted singles out that are only pet quality...which is what we want anyway...lol.  She might still have some for that.  Also sometimes she is busy busy and doesnt get back to her email very quickly.  I think that is why she is either not breeding or cutting way back on breeding.

There is a rat at the Lawrence Humane society currently listed on Petfinder....they don't list a sex however...I had thought about looking at that one but certainly don't need another rat. (we have Cool.

Good luck in your search.

Thanks so much...I'm am definately interested in staying in contact with you.  Will pm you with my email and contact info.  I actually am in Lawrence!  I will check with Midge at LHS and find out if they still have the rattie, wanna stick with boys for now, as I only have room for one large cage.  We currently have the 4 level ferret cage and that works well for main living quarters.  Only have a smaller cage for quarentine.  Thanks again!!! Good luck in your search.

Will you let me know if the rattie is a girl.  We can always squeeze one more in with this crew as we have a double ferret nation.

I wouldnt be able to get her until next week though as we are heading out for an out of state funeral.
