Looks good, thanks for clearing that up Dearpie. It's definitely something interesting I think I'd like to try when I next have rats again.

Blue Green Algae, Brewers yeast, Cat's Claw, Evening Primrose oil, Shark cartilage, oyster shell, alpha amylase, beta carotene, pine bark, papain, L Methionine, alfalfa, chicken liver, vitamin B1 (thiamin), vitamin B2 9pyridoxine), vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Vitamin K, Manganese, Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Amino Acids (tryptophan, threonine, isoluecine, leucine, lysine, methionine, crystine, phenylalaine, tyrosine, valine, arginine, histidine, alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glycerine)

Vitamins:  A, E, C
Minerals: Phosphorous, potassium, zinc, calcium, selenium
On ingredient that I object to is the shark cartilage. Many sharks are endangered and there is a lot of overhunting of sharks. A lot of the time they catch the shark, saw off its fins, and drop it back in the water to starve to death because it can't swim well enough to hunt anymore.

Yeah, I also am sticking with the Green Mush due to that shark ingredient in NuVet.  We won't even sell anything at work with shark cartilage in it due to the environmental/ethical issues with it. :/

From here:
http://www.nautilusproductions.com/sandtigersharks/scam.html

"North American populations of sharks have decreased by up to 80% in the past decade. As the National Marine Fisheries Service put it, "The fisheries service has determined that the Atlantic shark fishery is severely over-capitalized." One American-owned shark cartilage factory in Costa Rica destroys more than 111,000 sharks per year -- some estimates place the figure for sharks killed in American waters for cartilage above 200,000 sharks every month. Considering that some large sharks take 12 or more years to reach sexual maturity and bear only one or two baby sharks every year or two, it is obvious that this is over fishing on a catastrophic scale."

There are no peer reviewed, scientifically rigorous experiments showing shark cartilage is useful for cancer prevention.
There is proof that such things as shark finning and killing sharks for their cartilage is hurting an already precariously unbalanced ocean ecosystem.

I can't find a single source saying it's a good product that isn't making money selling it.
None of the big marine ecology groups promote shark cartilage and I'm also finding no marine scientists who do so.
In fact, all those folks are strongly opposed due to the detrimental impact the production is having on our oceans.

IMO, just not worth it. :/
I'm choosing to stay with Green Mush.

Hi Dearpie,

Just wondering if you still use NuVet plus for your dog?  If so, how long has your dog been taking it now?  I've read about it, but all I see are breeders selling it so I'd like to know about it from someone who just feels it's a good product and how long they've been using it.

Thanks
Nancy
