We have rats going to Peoria, IL and Janesboro, WI.  Any of those close?

That's Janesville,  I make trips to Madison, WI often, so can be of some help  Smiley

The topic of carriers has been coming up.  You are welcome to provide your own carrier at pick-up time.  If you don't already have one, I could provide one for $1.  It will be plastic with breathe holes drilled.  It won't have the "style" of carriers sold at pet stores for $15.....

Just let me know in advance if you want this so I can have it ready for you.  $1 will buy a safe/functional ride home.  Just not stylin' and profilin'!  Yellow Cute Laugh

If you need a carrier from me, here is what it will look like:

Holes are drilled on top and sides except for bottom 2 inches to clean your car clean.  Thanks to Topaz and Chevelle for their fine modeling.  They acted cozy, like it was a nest box.

Only two unreserved male babies left:

1)  ****** Mini-me  ********* He was so mellow for this photo with his dangly feet!

2)  ****** Tonka  **************

Many thanks to Julie from Ratrescue who is taking three boys to MN.

Litter update: The babies have a lot of energy.  Had them romp for an hour and a half in the playpen before they were ready to chill!  Lots of them are greeting with nibbles-- I'm squeaking when they do it to let them know, "ouch" in their language.  Can even do a live demo at pick-up time, if you wish to continue this with your rattie(s).

OFFER OPEN TO CURRENT ADOPTERS: If you can locate a good home for these two boys, you'll get the adoption fees for the two boys at $12.  All concerns for Tonka's eye have cleared. ( For two days, he opened his eye half way.)  Tonka is still my favorite and hubby has not waivered on adding to the ratty_pack.  I've already pushed my luck with bringing in pregnant mom in his eyes.

I am 95% sure the answer will still be "no" but I'm going to speak to my dad once again about rats. If a home pops up for these sweet boys, don't wait for me Grin Good luck!

Hi.  I haven't been using applications -- just reviewing posting history to feel safe -- so yes, the last two boys can be yours.  Give Tonka an extra kiss from me sometimes.  Beanjelly is actually picking up her boy closer to x-mas as that is when she is visiting family in the area.  This is still okay?

Beanjelly, is it okay to piggy back a ride with T-bone?  That would be three boy brothers traveling together to the St. Louis area?

Beanjelly, would you mind two little hitchhikers back to StL?  I'd be happy to pitch in on your gas a bit.  If you are willing, what date would you anticipate being back in town with the boys?
I'm so excited!  I've never had hand-raised young'uns before.  They will be kissed and cuddled daily, I assure you, ratty_pack.

of course I'll give those two cuties a ride!   Grin  I'm guessing we will be leaving the Chicago-area on the 27th to return to St. Louis, but I'm not positive yet.  I will email you both when I have definite plans.

woohoo! for cute babies!  (and I promise not to kidnap the other two, even though I'm sure I'll be very tempted... Heart)

Many babies have gone to their forever homes and mom went back to my neighbor's house.  It is a little heartbreaking as the remaining babies are so scared.  Having never seen babies the same day as being separated from mom is kinda painful to watch.  Wow, wish I could tell them that they will all have homes to be loved in!  They are even scared of me now!   Cry

Topaz, now, I'm free to bring Topaz, Spot, and cage to you.  Could make the trip tomorrow if you want....  Topaz is a smart one!  Of all days to make an escape, the day he is scared!  Thankgoodness, he came out when Stormwatching was here adopting.

T-Bone, Tonka, and Mini-me will be craddled as much as I can!  Really hope they adjust soon!!!!

Do you think we can make it next week?  This week is my worst work week and I'll be incredibly busy, and when I do get home I'll be very tired.  Will sometime next week work?

Sure, next week can work, Topaz.

Guess with evening, the babies have too much energy to not play.  At least they don't seem scared of me anymore!

It was probably the shock of their mom not being around that spooked them a little.

If you can PM me with the dates and times that work best for you between the 14th and the 22nd that would be great.   Heart

Smiley Thank you so much ratty_pack, it was wonderful meeting you!

Chevelle and Maracas are all settled in, Maracas thought it was amusing to crawl down my shirt. Chevelle is SO outgoing! Smiley she is always out and about and EATING! She packs food away like it's going out of style.

Once again, lovely meeting you and there will be updates! Cheesy

So glad to hear!  Maracas got her name for her response to petting her belly.  She liked being held in a standing position and petted there.  Voila--trembling tail.  I think Maracas may be a little slower in adjusting -- but worth the wait!

Chevelle was the party girl at Thanksgiving with relatives!  Glad to hear nothings changed!

I'm confused - I thought my boys (tonka and mini-me) were the last two available? Did someone back out?

How are they doing without mama around?  I hope they are adjusting well!

Honestly, I've been a little foolish and didn't realize that two rats were "Spot" to me as they each have an eyepatch Spot.  Looking back on photos, I photographed them both as "Spot" without realizing it.  Sometimes my count was off, but didn't connect the dots of two "Spots".  Should have had 5 rats left and found 6!

They just passed 5 weeks of age last Saturday.  I will post photos -- after I clear which "Spot" Topaz wants.  I will do a personality update once they are resettled.  They are still nervous with mom and siblings disappearing this weekend.

At this time, I feel more comfortable for adopters to come to me.  Topaz was the only exception and wanted to do that for a long time member who I knew was active with rescues and a great owner.  Plus, we had a rat with nearly identical markings to her beloved "Topaz" rat.
