BTW,  with Beanjelly being a newer rattie owner and being in town on Thanksgiving, I'm going to let her meet the boys and interact to select/reserve her boy....

Thank you for all the earily interest and I'll continue to spend a lot of time socializing your future pets.  Truely, a labor or love.  They are adorable!  I've heard that they'll steal our hearts even more when their eyes open.   Heart

Please also continue to ask for rats that you'd like to adopt.  Sometimes adopters need to back out as things can change in 4 weeks.

I think it is safe to say that their coats will be a rich charcoal and white.  Their eyes look to be black.  Surprises may still be awaiting us.

The babies' rat Mommy is bruxing these days as they nurse.  I'm very happy to say that she is allowing me to handle her babies with her in the cage.  Okay, maybe it had something to do with the pumpkin bread I gave her...  Smiley

Day 8:  TRY and make a line-up of healthy young ratties!!









Their coats are silky slick.  Wow, wish I could show you the action of these little guys.  I can safely say there will be no more line-up photos!  Look for the rattie resting on his side!  This thrills me to see it developing into natural habit of something *really good* !

Ah geez such tough decisions.... Ratty_pack, go ahead and remove my name from topaz, as I think he has a sure home Wink

I will have to pick though, if I want to get the boys or girls. I am pretty stuck on yertle, and it would be easier for me to get a boy pair, as my two girls that I own are spayed. So maybe a tentative voice on Fudge to go with Yertle. I think I might have to give up the voice on the girls though, as I don't want to stop other adopters from thinking about them. Oh the pain... I love them all. You must be just going nuts with all of those sweet babies around you.

Ratlovingkippy211, yes, we do have more boys than rats that have homes lined up.  If you could give me a list of the boys you would be interested in, I'll do my best to match people with the right babies.  You can say something like "two or no deal" if you want a pair the same age.

MaevePotter, updated interests.  Your right, I adore these little ones now and want really good homes for them.  WISH, Maracas was a boy...

I'm going to have to back out on Platinum.. even though I want her so bad. I have to downsize cage size and put my 4 girls and 2 boys in a 680; to squeeze another in is not fair and to keep them all in the 695 isn't right either because the cage is so big and I have lower back problems, I cannot clean it as often as I need to. Sad I hope she gets a good home!

Day 9 & 10

Silouette bruxed when both sides were petted.  Melted with petting

Isis-fast explorer until finding a conrner to tuck her head.  Licks my finger when grasping for a nipple.

Pure Blaze-Gentle and careful exploring.  Enjoyed enclosed petting

Maracas-Trembles her tail when checking out the world too.  Enjoys a cuddle.  An endearing love.  She really steals my heart.

Mini-me-A little bigger than the other babies so each step takes him faster/further.  A bellyrub stops him in his tracks.

Spot-Walks like an alligator with whole body flattened.  After getting tired, bruxed with petting.  Enjoyed side bellyrub with feet touching.

Sunflare-Started "Squashed Alligator Leaps".  Quite hillarious.  Chatty with squeaks.  Loves to be enclosed in hand.  Licks her lips

Topaz-Developed a thick fur making him very striking.  Relaxs when enclosed.  Anything above him will be climbed.  Melts with head rub.

Fudge-Whole head vibrates with bruxing.  Initially very confused when picked up.  Totally relaxed and cuddly when I held him near my heart.

T-bone- Oh man is he eating and densely packed.  STRONG.  Can pull up body with two hands.  Bruxed at himself!

Crossroad-can walk backwards.  Trembled tail with kisses.  Coat is full making her striking.

Yertle-Where's the food?  Kept digging and grasping for a nipple.  OKAY, "if you can't feed me a cuddle with do"

Tonka-His markings have developed several peppered areas with an equal mix of charcoal and white hair.  Really pretty.  Enjoys being enclosed.  Comfortable upside down as long as feet are touching.  He hasn't done anything to deserve this statement....  My gut feeling is he is a future alpha.

Platinum- She was hungry and looking for food.  She cracked me up that when I put her back in the cage she RAN to mom and was the first to latch on.

I cannot say for certain whether I will be adopting ratlets this year or not, as I have an very elderly hamster that I 'rescued' from my friend (and my parents say that I can only have one animal/pair of animals at a time...), but things happen, and If on December 8th I am able, I would like to adopt a pair of boys. Whichever available would be great, but if Fudge and Spot don't end up getting adopted, I love them! *Thud*  Heart
