A friend of mine rescued 5 female hairless rats from a local pet store that wanted to sell them as feeders and needless to say 5 turned into over 50, as all were expecting upon purchase. I am currently helping to foster these cute little babies but they all need forever, loving homes. THESE ARE PETS ONLY!!!!!!!!! NOT TO BE USED AS FEEDERS OR BREEDERS!!!!!!! AGAIN FOREVER, LOVING PET HOMES!!!!!!!!!!!
Currently in my care are 12 females and 19 males, all hairless and age 7-8wks old.  Amongst the mix we have 1 albino baby male, 1 albino dark eyed baby male, and assorted hoods and solids. Colorations to please everyone…take your pick.
Also for adoption,  1 female adult, approx 4-5months old, hairless and of solid coloration.
All rattys are lovable and show great temperaments. They have been handled since birth and continue to be handled daily.  Even my two kids play with them with ease so they are child friendly.  Also, they are very healthy, with no respiratory issues as they have been kept on proper bedding.
Adoption fee to ensure great home is required.  We want to make sure they are not used as feeders!  Our adoption fee will be a modest $8 each, $15 a pair, and if you want more than two, price is negotiable.
Also, we currently have 3 set ups available for PAIRS only.  This set up includes: 2 same sex babies of your choice (same sex only because the majority of babies are too closely related to breed), 10gal aquarium, lid, water bottle, food dish, and your first round of bedding to get you going for $25.
Please contact us at my email address bigdawgluv@gmail or my friend at dragana_the_purple@yahoo.com.  Due to hectic schedules please contact by email as someone will be checking emails several times a day.  We are in DALTON, GA (zip code: 30720 if you’d like to mapquest) and we prefer pick up close to the Dalton area, but delivery can be discussed based on location.
Come on…let a little nekkid rat love in your life…You Won’t Regret it Shocked)

Oh how I wish I could get them to you. Very few have found homes, which I was afraid would happen. I know I would be unable to make that far of a trip. I doubt my friend would be able to either. Does anyone know how transports work? I'm unfamiliar w/that aspect of fostering. I'll take any ideas anyone has as I've had others from far away inquire about the babies. Suggestions from any of you pros out there?

I am in Southern California, and I could take one. I have been searching for a hairless from for my Maggie girl.

Please let me know if you find out anything regarding transportation.

If they could get to Nashville, I would be able to bring them north all the way to St. Louis.  If any southern IL/IN/OH/KY people were interested, they could meet me along my way.

I am interested in adopting at least 2 and not more than 4 boys. (I'm flexible, lol.)  I'm in St. Louis, so Nashville doesn't have a particular signifcance. I just looked at the map and decided that Nashville was as far as I'd be willing to drive.  Terre Haute is much, much closer for me - it would be great to be able to pick them up there instead.

I'm not familiar with the yahoo group, but if you are, by all means post the request.  I also PM'ed Dearpie to ask where we could post a thread to beg for a volunteer  Blue Dumbo Big Eyes lol

OK I talked w/work yesterday and my friend last night and I'm not due any vacation time until my birthday later this month and that is when my family takes their annual trip to the mountains. My friend would said she could travel but could only go as far as Jasper or Mont Eagle. Beyond that it would be later in spring before I would have any time off. But if you'd like to talk w/my friend about meeting then you can email her at dragana_the_purple@yahoo.com
I'm sorry I'm unable to assist...I would love to but I'm sure my family wouldn't redirect their trip to Nashville instead. DARN! Never been there myself!
Well let me know if I can help in any other ways. Thank you!
(I'm also going to email her this thread and have her take a look and see what she may be able to do)

I am in Johnson City TN, NE TN up as the far corner. I would be willing to help if anyone can tell me how I could. I am willing to drive, but not too terribly far in one sitting, and I am willing to adopt 1 more male. It gets you closer to Nashville with me.

I am 4 hours from you bigdawgluv.

I am 4 and 1/2 hours from Nashville.

I am off of work this entire week for vacation, but I have no money for gas. Let me know about this I really would love to help out.

I do not work on Sundays or Wednesdays, so picking up one weekend/week and dropping off another would be great.

I have at least 1 large foster cage I could carry quite a few in.

My e-mail is Barbedwirecat@yahoo.com for faster results.

Please let me know. I am not in the greatest situation fiancially right now, but will do all I can to help, I know you are overburdened.

Actually I can take them to Chattanooga to meet someone.  Chattanooga isn't that far for me so I can at least get them that far North.

BarbedDragon,
Thanks for the offer, but you are actually in the opposite of the direction we need to go right now.  If there would be anyone in VA, NC or even southwestern KY interested in adopting, though, I'm sure you could be of service.

I did some sweet talking at work and they gave me an extra day's vacation! WOO HOO! What can we set up for Friday Jan 18th? Can anyone meet me in Nashville on that day? I can transport rats that way and then still meet the family for our annual trip! Took some doing but I did   Hyper
Oh and whoever I meet in Nashville will have to navigate me because I have never been there before and I'm well "challenged" when it comes to directions  Blue Dumbo Smile
So what can we work out on this crew?
Let's get us a ratty train going!
Post or Email and I'll try to keep checking back regularly!
You are all so so awesome to help w/all of this!
Thank you Thank you Thank you!

bigdawgluv - I believe I would be able to come to Nashville on 1/18 to meet you.  It would be good to try to find additional adopters along the route I'm going home.  Will you please edit the title of your adoption thread to indicate this to those in west KY, south IN, and south IL?  How many rats of each gender do you have left?  If you don't mind me asking, how many do you feel capable of caring for or adopting out within the near future?  I'm just wondering if it may be possible to work with some rescues or foster homes to lighten your load a bit.  I know you are probably pretty overwhelmed with all those babies!

I have never been to Nashville either, so if anybody on the boards lives in that area, can you pm me with a suggestion for a good place to meet up in Nashville along I-24?  Thanks.

xounlabledxo - I won't be able to deliver the rats to Terre Haute unfortunately.  However, I would be able to meet you in Effingham, IL (about 1hr and 15 minutes west of you) on any mutually agreeable date.  Please let me know.

I am in Huntsville, ALabama.  I wouldn't mind adopting a couple of the same sex pair, if they're friendly.  I won't be able to do transporting since I have a car that is about to kick the bucket, but if someone is coming anywhere near here, I could help you by taking a few.  This is a long shot but I thought I would offer.

To help with adoptions for these cuties, you should put your location in the subject line.  Good luck!

psst... we are a pet rat forum, not a feeder forum Smiley
