Yes I've decided to get a couple of rats. I'd like to get 1-2 females, baby or young. I'd love to get any sort of champagne marked, standard or velvet coat, but I will consider others of course. I want to find these rats somewhere in my state near the Gulf Coastal area, but I can possibly travel.

You can contact me on my email with feedback.

There is a rescue in Mobile that has many young rats. You can check their Petfinder listing from the link. Also just wanted to mention that if you aren't adding to an existing group of rats, it's always best to get two, as they're very social and do best with a friend!

I'm looking for rats in Alabama or Georgia myself - There was a lead in the Atlanta Craigslist on some babies in Douglasville but I haven't heard back from them yet. There's the place mentioned in Mobile, although for me, that's a good 6 hour drive. Atlanta may be my next best choice as Birmingham has a lack of options, save Petsmart, which I'm trying to avoid. I got a girl from there a couple years ago and she did fine and died of a tumor at age 1.5, but she was always a bit sniffly and had antibiotics often.

Hmm ok. Well if you find out anything on those Mobile ratties, I'd love if you could let me know. That's a 45 minute drive from here. If nothing else, Petsmart may be the next best thing.
