I found this on flickr and have been considering doing such to my FN, seeing as how my boys now like to get under the pillowcase liners and pee    Blue Dumbo Smile   (and it doesnt absorb into the fleece right away, so  the thought of them laying under a blanket with their own pee on it makes me cringe!)

I cant afford to get the pans right now (but my severance payment from work will help!) So, until then I'm going to try to make something such as these, to put bedding in.
Is that like sign material? Like the same kind that people use to put "vote for such and such" signs in their yard?
If so, what type of store could I buy something like this at?
Do you have an alternative material that you think would be better?

Keeping in mind this will only be for the floors, the pillowcase style liner works well on the two shelves.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Yes it's the stuff they use to make signs, it's called cloroplast.  I found cloroplast for my piggies by looking under "signs" in the yellow cages.  Then I just called a few places untill I found one that would sell it.  It doesn't cost that much, like $10-$15 for a 4x8 foot sheet Smiley

If your rats are chewers, save your time and money and don't make these coroplast walls; I speak from experience!
I very carefully measured, cut and attached...and within a few days my girls had sawed them each and every one down to nubs!  Shocked  Unfortunately, I can't suggest an alternative, but because coroplast tends to be very attractive to chew-happy ratties, I wanted to give you a warning!  Blue Dumbo Smile

well they aren't horrible chewers.  so far they're working out well. i did however put the FN pans inside of them, just to sort of keep the bedding in the cage. they've only chewed it up by the middle of the bottom door. thats usually where i give them treats so it makes sense.  other than that they are working well! and my boys can no longer hide under the fleece all the time, so i'm actually also making progress with the trust training.
