You Always Widdle On The One You Love

WWW
« on: February 27, 2008, 06:41:50 PM »

Ok so I am positively ticked and I guess it would have to be at myself as there is no one else to blame but me.  I finally got off the fence and decided to go break down and buy one of these cages at PetSmart tonight.  I was going to have PetSmart price match the Pet Mountain price for me.  So I got to print off the Pet Mountain page and what do I find.  They raised the price of the cage and added a service fee as well making the cage the same price as the PetSmart cage.  OMG I am just furious.  Now I am back to thinking spending the extra few bucks for a martins might be the way to go.

Unless someone knows where I can print off another cheap offer to take to PetSmart.  But I can't bring myself to pay $90 some dollars for a flimsy SP cage.

I think its worth is, its a great cage and is unlike any of the other cages they have made. Look it up, a ton of people LOVE the cage.

Don't know if your Petsmart makes you print out shipping too (or if it has to be in stock), but maybe one of these?

What about the Coast one for rats?  Would that work for the babies?  It's not a lot of room is the problem.  Maybe for the 2(3?) boys, and the girls can have the other cage (I'm thinking you have another one)

I'm trying to decide if for $90 I'd rather go with SP or Martins.  It's a hard choice.

I've never had the super pet, but I LOVE my Martins and the price difference is not that great (depending on what cage you order).  I know folks love the SP, and I'm certainly not saying anything negative about it, but personally I would go with the Martins (Based on my experiences with their cages).  Plus you can customize the Martins Smiley  Just my opinion!  Ratty Smiley

The new sp cage is not flimsy at all. It's well worth the price. It's really big and the bar spacing is perfect for small rats.
I love it, it's so much better than a martins.

We have two SP cages (The ferret towers) that we use for the majority of the boys. (We used to use it for the adult girls until I had two or three sticking heads out past ears reaching for more cookies!! Shocked) We like the SP because it breaks down easiest for cleaning, even if we have to use zip ties to put it together...(The E-clips are better, though)

Everyone else is in Coast, martins, or remodeled large bird cages.

I went from an FF to a SP Exotics a few weeks ago. I have cleaned this cage numerous times and can honestly say....I LOVE it! It's super duper easy for me to clean, which is a must since I work 45 hours a week and have little time for cleaning because I want to spend time with my pets too.

Take it outside once and month and hose it off! I took mine outside the other day and hosed it off...it was so easy.

I will recommend this cage to anyone. I have such a blast decorating it, too. Have you seen pictures of my cage?

Honestly, the cage is a tad flimsy, but for the price ($60 cheaper than an R-695 for me)....this cage is well worth it. I can fold it down in the future too, when I take a break from rats after mine pass. I love how I can reorder shelves and ramps, too, since my guys tend to chew a bit.

It's worth buying and trying. If you hate it, pack it back up and return it at PetsMart  Smiley.

I really like that cage. Once the time is right for me to get rats, the choice will be between one of these super pet cages or a martins...

Anyways, this site has the cage for about $75. http://www.rabbitstop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=60226&Category_Code=SuperPetChinchillaHomes&Product_Count=0

Woohoo, cheaper cage now!  Now, if Petsmart will only get the cage BACK in stock.  The one here sold 8 (!) in February, and they are clean out Sad

It was cheaper for me to order it from Pet Mountain online, then buy it in my PetsMart store (if they had any). I was actually $10 cheaper for me  Smiley.

The cage is listed for "Exotics"....rabbitstop is just listing it is a Chin cage Tongue.

If you go to the top right corner of Home Squeak Home to the SEARCH field, put in Exotics.  You'll find MANY threads with information about the SP Exotics cage.  It will only bring up threads in this section.  Wink

I tried searching Exotics and Exotics cage.  I get one page of posts, and 90% of the posts are this one.  Thanks to those who posted pics of their SP Exotics cage.
