It's no problem, I'm glad he got a good home! It's probably best that I don't give in to GGMR (right away at least, LOL), and overburden myself too fast too soon with fuzzbutts.

For us, our only 'issue' with girl rats is we don't want to worry about 'oops litters'.   So we figured if we ONLY have males in the house, no one can make babies.

Those girls are so cute, too.  Smiley  I can't believe there's not more interest in them.

How old are you girls again? Buddy's sister KIna  is still looking for a good home as well. She lives with the 5 younger babies that i believe are 7 weeks old but im not sure. All of the babies have great personalities and i don't understand why no one wants to even give them a chance Sad

They should have a good home, they come running to the door to see you when you call them Smiley it is very cute  Blue Dumbo Smile

Please let me know if anyone wants to know more about the girls.

As i said before i will transport Out of state or in IL, My semster is done on May 16 i believe that is finals week so i will be able to travel.

Thank you for looking

We've been talking about in the future getting a second large cage, and keeping a small group of girls, but it probably won't be til next year.   Sooner or later, I'll probably want girls just to see how they're different from boys, but I really like big rats, and my boys are all so sweet so far, I'm pretty happy sticking with them.

Only 4 girls and Miracle left to find homes for.  Smiley (I can't believe no one's interested in Miracle..  He's been through so much, surely someone has the experience and ability to give him a happy home?   Puppy Dog Eyes: )

I am taking in two 9 month females in late May early June and someone else wants me to find homes for her 2 boys and 2 girls Sad why are there so many rats who need homes out there.  I hope my babies find good homes, i love them all so much. I just want what is best for them Sad Miracle is going to be hard to place

Yeah, my boys are young, and already they can be quite lazy. Tongue  I don't mind too much right now, but it the future active rats may be nice.  Yellow Cute Laugh

It really is sad how many rats need homes.  Sad  I'm confidant that the right homes for your babies will come around, it just may take time. :3

If I had more experience with rats, and a cage he could have on his own, I'd take him in.  I certainly feel for him. I just don't think I have enough experience, especially with a rat that has been through SO much, to help him feel safe and comfortable, and learn to love people.  It's had such a rocky start to life, he really needs the best home possible.  I'm sure one will come along.  Smiley  Hopefully sooner rather then later, for his sake!

he really isn't that bad, he is a good rat has never been aggressive to me when you pick him up he never stops moving just wants to explore, apart from his tail and his past there is nothing that different about him. He has really improved since i got him.  He will just have to be alone. I hope someone will take him he really is a good boy just needs someone to love him. A  little nerves of hands in the cage but again never shown any signs of aggression

Oh, really?  That's surprising, I would have thought he'd be difficult to earn the trust of after all he's been through.  It's really amazing how much animals can heal, even after being through such horrible things.  Do you think if he was neutered, he could learn to live with females?  (Since he has an issue with males.)   I suppose if he won't get along with anyone, that's just how it's going to have to be, I just didn't know if there would be any chance for in the future him getting along with others.

Ohman, don't tempt me.      Yellow Cute Laugh

I don't want to put my foot in my mouth here, but I am looking to get rats this summer. However, the situation is unstable and I cannot make any "for sure" commitments yet, but I am interested in at least 2 of your girls (if not all 4-- depends on the cage and bills).

I'm presently downstate IL but will be moving to Chicagoland area by May 20 (right after I graduate with my degree). If current negotiations continue smoothly, I will be picking up a cage around that time and modifying it as it presently has 1"x1" spacing. I have a vet in Arlington Heights in mind and intend to feed Suebee's mix with lab blocks (not sure which yet). I also intend to use fabric liners & Yesterday's News in a pan for bedding. Unfortunately, there are two very crucial things I need to make this work-- a secure job (filed 30 apps since Sunday) and a secure home (staying with a rat friendly pal until I find my own apartment). However if all goes well I will be contacting you again about these girls. <33

I know it's a lot of ifs, but I felt I at least needed to voice my interest and throw it out there.

Until then, could you clarify as to which ones are left? I know the 3 month old is (she's the one who caught my eye first <33 ) but I'm not sure about the younger crowd.

Thank you for your time and patience, and for all of our sakes I really hope this works out. I don't want to be another home that "fell through" and if somebody comes along and says "Yes! I can for sure take them!" then by all means let the little critters go to their new homes. There will always be more rats looking for homes in the Chicagoland area. <3

he met Moose, they were okay at neutoral ground, i would be careful but i don't see why it couldn't work.. either it will or it won't. It will take time, he was attacked by a male rat so maybe a younger baby would be better but who knows in less you try.

Also an update:

Nina and AMy- On hold
Blue and maybe dumbo- on HOld

There is one more dumbo left, a white and black standard girl who is VERY CUTE, and her sister who is white and i need to check to see what she is.

white dumbo

White unknown

Kara is now also in need of a home Sad

We're going to talk more about it, and see if we can't figure something out.  I can't commit to him yet so if you find him a good home that's great, but if you think even someone who's only had experience with young boy rats can give him a good home, we're open. Smiley  I just need to get ahold of a 3rd cage, because I have space in the other 2, but I want a 'backup' plan, and I'd really like to try and introduce him slooowly to other rats.  (I mean, really when I think about it, we could even split the feisty ferret cage into two, my boys only seem to use the top half anyway. Tongue  Wouldn't be a permanent thing, but it could be a temporary option until we figured out if he'd be a good candidate for neutering, and then maybe try putting him in a cage with a small group of baby girls.)  I have my heart set on a rat nation now, when they come out.

Still interested in these lovely ladies, but still cannot commit.
(Not meant to scare away other potential adopters-- if you can give these sweet girls a home please do! They deserve it)

Can you tell me how social they are? Are you doing any sort of litter training with them? And I assume they are still living together right? Thanks =)

the girls are living together. There are six girls in my exotics cage, they are not full grow and believe me it is a search to find them between the slide i took out of my old ferret cage, the large wheel and houses all over the place. They are spoiled, but are VERY sweet rats. I am keeping one of the dumbos, her sisters have the same personality, They love to come out and meet you, they love to be with you. Kara is the oldest by a few months but gets along well, she is from a my first foster litter that came from a bad home, her mom gave birth on the way to my job. Her personality is not as outgoing but she is very loving but nerves of unknown things. You need to give her a chance, while the 2 younger girls you could adopt them that day and they would want to play. Kara has her moms personality,  nerves of new things but once she does know you mean no harm she is right at the door to meet you. Her mom was the same way.  They really are very good rats, i wish i would keep them but it wouldn't be fair to them.

Thanks

Just wanted to update you on how the boys are settling in. Smiley  The blaze boy is doing great- it turns out he has the exact same personality as my Jacob, minus Jacob's obsessive licking.  (The "OMG YOU OPENED THE CAGE I'M COMING OUT IF I HAVE TO CLIMB UP YOUR ARM AND GET ON YOUR SHOULDER" personality.    )  I was going to call him Laurant, but now he's seeming like more of a Felix or a Fritz to me, so I'm still trying to decide.  Yellow Cute Laugh  My older boy were being a bit rough with him (No biting, just lots of wrestling) so I'm keeping him with the babies for now.  I wasn't worried about him being hurt, but I felt bad at the 4-to-1 wrestling match.  Tongue  So I think I'll let them get used to him in the same room as them gradually, and then see about introducing him in.  Miracle is doing great, too!  He's so big and squishy, and bruxes the loudest I've ever heard any rat!  I have him in a large cage on his own right now, but once he's more settled in we'll get him neutered and try to find a girl or two to keep him company.  (Though, right now, I'm pretty much like "no more rats!" even though settling everyone in went better then could have been expected!)
