Can rats feel left out? Because...

My friend has 3 rats that he had adopted almost 4 weeks ago. So far they are very playful and active. One rat ALWAYS waits near the front door to be let out. My friend thinks it is because the other rats seem to just ignore him for some reason. The other 2 rats are really close and pretty much always do everything together and even eat at the same time or at least place. They always tease the lonely one probably because he is lower in the pack. The lonely one tries to play with the other ones and gets along great for a few minutes but the other 2 rats will go back to playing with each other. So he just sleeps or tries to escape. Probably out of boredom. This is all the info I have because these arent my rats and my friend just told me this much.

honestly im new but to me he does sort of sound lonley. I think he needs a freind :cheeky:lol. But then i could be wrong

My rat,Domie is almost always by the door.All the other rats sleep in their hammocks or houses,but not Domie.He's always got his little nose sticking out through the bars.And,Domie is high up on the food chain of his group.I think he just loves coming out to play.Whenever I go up to the cage,he licks me like crazy,like he's sauing,"pleease let me out"!Or maybe he just loves me!

Maybe the little guy just loves his outside time?

But,Domie does play with the other rats too,I guess.
