Lisbet – May 2005 to May 8, 2008 :'(

One week after her 3-year-old birthday, my lovely tiny Lisbet slowed right down and showed me strongly that she was tired and didn’t want to be here anymore.  I stayed up on the couch with her last night, since she was unhappy in her cage, and this morning I dropped her off at my vet’s to be pts.  She was with me for only 11 months.



My other little pink alien has left me to rejoin her beloved sister.  I had a feeling that it wouldn’t be too long that Lisbet would leave me.

Lisbet was the tiny, subordinate sister whom Bella defended at all costs, with her teeth in me if necessary.  But Bella also felt she had the right to be the one to beat her up when she felt like it.  LOL  So poor Lisbet always sported a startling array of scratches.  But I guess Karma kicked in and it was she who scratched over Bella’s eye and burst the eyeball.   
Sadly Lisbet had a chronic URI that would flare up occasionally and often sounded just terrible.

I was sure that sweet Lisbet would pine for her sister after she left us early in April, but she was amazing and was bouncing around and climbing and active and bright.

She had a personality that was always outshone by her more pushy sister, but it really came out in the last month…she loved to sleep on my stomach…we’d nap like that…it was lovely, and I will miss those moments.

I hope you found Bella right away my lovely girl, I will miss you so much but I know you are happy now again.

I am very sorry you had to let Lisbet go but at the same time, I am grateful (and I KNOW she is too!) that she had found you in her life, even if it was later on in her life, and she got to share those beautiful moments with you and with no other. You are special because of her. You have given her everything, truly everything she needed to lead a fulfilled life and she thanked you by staying with you for so long.

She will always be with you. Always. She will be your special guardian with a beautiful soul, she will never be far away from you.

I just told my husband about Lisbet and he said, "the one on the chewed up couch!"

He is very sorry, too.

Oh Shelagh, I'm so sorry. Your sweet girls are together again, after getting the best retirement home that I could possibly imagine!

Oh Shelagh, I am so so sorry!  I know how much you loved that little girl, and she knew it, too.  There's definitely comfort in the two being together again, but you know that the last bits of their lives were the best, because they were shared with you.

I am so sorry, Shelagh. She looks like she had an awesome sweet spirit. She was so beautiful.

She is strong of body again and running her little heart out on the other side of the bridge. She will be waiting for you there so you can snuggle again. Only this time, she will not need to demand medicine.

I'm so sorry!  I'm so glad she and her sister found you, though.  She had a good life with you, and she definitely thanked you for that.  I know your heart will never completely heal, but I hope it starts to hurt less really soon.
