How long is thier life cycle? My girls have been treated but I had a big bag of carefresh next to their cage which is now in the garage. How long should I leave it out there? I heard freezing kills mites, but not lice. Should I be freezing it?

Freezing will kill the mites and the lice, but not the lice eggs, or nits. According to thisarticle, the life cycle can be as long as 21 days. You could wait a month to be absolutely sure they're gone.

I'd freeze it, personally. That way, you just have to wait 48 hours.

Thanks! If freezing doesn't kill the eggs, there's not much point in freezing it, right?
