So I saw some porphyrin around Basil's nose the other day and called the vet. He immediately wanted to see Basil and his brother. So, I rushed them to the vet's office, thinking the worse and lo and behold that when I get there they have NO sign of porphyrin and are bouncing off the walls like someone gave them pure sugar. They got weighed and looked over. Basil got his lungs listened to but they were clear and fine. We talked about culturing some samples but didn't think it would be necessary as they both were fine. He didn't blame me at for bringing them in as he knows how quickly they can go downhill. They both were fine over the weekend and now this week they're sneezy again. I've changed their bedding to all fleece and hammocks, cleaned the room top to bottom that they live in, changed the laundry detergent twice ( once to Dreft and now to dye and perfume free thinking that was what was making them sneezy). I don't smoke nor do I burn candles or incense. They are eating fine and playing like always.
I trust my vet whole heartedly. He's a wildlife and exotics specialist. He's the vet for the zoo here in my town and treats my snakes and my ferrets (when they were alive). I don't want to rush them back to him and spend another 75 dollars for them to get a field trip.
Am I being an overemotinal and worried mommy? Have any of you ever listened for every sneeze and sniffle?
