Goliath update - He has a new friend?

Goliath is a healthy hefty boy now who weighs 276 grams!!     A long way away from a tiny very sick little 4 week-old boy whom most of us thought would never make it.   

Sadly Goli is a rude little boy when it comes to other rats.  First he pounces on them and tries to pin and powergroom and mount them all, but when the other rat protests then he gets super defensive and will stand there with his mouth open ready to bite faces...and he tries.  He has done very badly through multiple neutral intro's so far.  They all end up being very sick of him and will chase him.  He just doesn't seem to be learning.

Then Bagel and Adia came along and Goli did very well with them...so I had hope.  Of course they both just passed on Friday night and Saturday morning so my Goliath was alone again

Faline is a 23 month old auntie to the remaining 2 Tiki girls.  But these girls are not very nice to her anymore.  They have been beating her up and even have powergroomed scabs under her ears.  I have checked her over for other scabs (mites) and watched to see where they groomed her.  Yep, poor old lady.  She is a tilty from way back, and now losing her back end, but she is healthy overall.

After some horrible beat-downs I took her out and tossed her into Goliath's cage.  He is not nasty, just rude but since Faline could put up with the Black Beasts from Hell, I am sure one little man was nothing. 

He was very rude with her as usual, but she must've told him "enough's enough Punk!" so this morning he is more wary and respectful around her, and even runs when she trundles towards him.  Silly boy.   
I am hoping Faline can teach Goli some ratiquette so that one day he can be accepted into a bigger younger group.

I think Goli is confused as to why his cagemates come and go...

Awwwwwwww, Goliath!!! You rude little man! Hopefully Faline can teach him how to be a gentleman. She is so pretty!  She looks like one of those very forgiving sweet grandmas who accept pretty much everything from her grandchildren and by being so loving, the grandchildren learn how to be more respectful. Do you know what I mean?
She looks so very sweet!!!

And Goliath with his holepunched ears!!! He gets to lap up her babyfood, he should be more grateful!

Not likely now.  Faline is terrified of adult rats and I only recently discovered babies are her thing    Shadow will come out and get her Ensure with me and then go lie on her cagemates in her cage.  She's really happiest there.

He certainly sounds like a spoiled brat, but is quickly becoming tamed. Nice!!    Glad to see he's doing so well, overall!

Aw, silly Goliath!  I have a special place in my heart for cluelessly obnoxious rats.   I hope pretty Faline can teach him a few manners so he can get more company, since he clearly enjoys it.  What a pair of cuties!
