rat-proofing

Ok, so I thought I had rat-proofed a room and put my rats in it with some cheerios and boxes and paper towel to shred.  I left them for about 45 minutes.  When I came back they had torn pieces of wall-paper off the wall and were using that for nesting material in one of the boxes.  I am just posting this as a warning to other people who intent to let their rat roam that they can get into things that you wouldn't expect.  I probably should have supervised them.
