Would you like to take me home?

« on: May 10, 2008, 09:54:29 AM »

I wanted to do up a post on Shadow while she is still with us, although I don't think it will be long before she leaves.
She is a rehome from a friend who had to rehome a pile of her rats.  She is 33 months old and it took us a long time to find her Friends.  She's a very happy, spunky, thin, scruffy little gal now, who used to be quite fat.  But age takes its toll.   Undecided

My Shadow is so happy with her friends that she doesn't want to leave them just yet, and she likes me but loves them. Grin

She has that reptilian walk now, that old rats sometimes get, but she can still get from the bottom to the top of her 4' martin's (2 R-680's stacked on each other).  You should see her motor when she is on the floor.... Shocked 2
She is a lovely old gal at 33 months, and my only one left to nurse for awhile.  Heart

She leans on me to groom...don't let me fall Mom!

Cutest little face in the world...she's always had those sweet eyes

And boy does this gal just loooooove food!

I put her in the cage with now-alone Goliath with a dish of cereal, and she is still eating.  If she is too sad away from her much younger, slightly obnoxious cagemates then I will put her back, but I am giving her a chance to see if she would like some peace and quiet.

If she only visits Goli to have her supplemental foods that will be alright too.

What a precious old lady!  Kiss
I just love that first picture: such trust.  She has such a sweet face, too.  I hope she hangs in there for a while longer.  Heart

Kiss when they get that old, I am reminded of how they were when they are tiny bubs- they feel just as fragile and delicate as when they were just opening their eyes. Lots of yogies to you, shadow...
