My handsome Magnus has rejoined his his brother, the infamous angry Armand, at the bridge. I took him in with Norbu this morning, since Mags' quality of life had so drastically decreased in the past week. I am so grateful that he was able to spend as much time with me as he did -- I adopted the pair when they were already 24 months old from Kyssyfur, who had been fostering them for HVRR.

In a bittersweet way, Mags really got the opportunity to blossom after Armand's death, and I was able to move him into the big cage with the rest of the rats where he'd have ratpiles galore. On a hunch, I just plopped him in the big cage and it went fantastically! He was thrilled to has so many companions after being lonely over Armand's passing, and he took to Ratley and Thunder (RIP) and it was so sweet to see my oldies snuggled together, content.

Magnus and Armand (Mags with eyes open)

Oh, he was lovely.  The thought of old rats getting to sleep in big, snuggly piles always gives me a lump in my throat (in a good way!).  I'm sorry for your loss, and glad that Magnus had such a wonderful home.

Mandy, I'm so sorry your handsome boy has gone.  You sensed his needs and catered to them so well; what a lovely retirement he had.  Rest in Peace, Magnus. Cry

Oh Mandy what a lovely hunch you had!!  That gut feeling made a very happy Mags in the end.   Heart
He was 38 months old...wow!  I am so sorry your beautiful old man left you but you know he is happy and in even more ratpiles right now.

I love that pic of the 2 boys together, makes me feel all warm and squishy inside.  *sniff*
