So I just bought a new hairless maley and would like some suggestions on names.  ^.^

Possible names so far include Mitchel, Guy, Eldwin.

I was looking for a real masculine name b/c he's really my first male.  Timmy was my boyfriends.

I like Edwin best. How about Harry or Kojak? Maybe Jean Luc? He's a cutie! Congrats!

Hehe we were thinking Alcki b/c he sways so much like a drunk... but I didn't like that specifically.  So was trying to think of a booze with a cool name.

Otherwise we were thinking Old Man b/c he looks like one.  XD

Keep the suggestions coming!  ^.^

Not the name of an alcoholic beverage technically but...Bender. It's also a reference to Futurama, which is a hilarious cartoon.

lol Chuck Norris.  That made me laugh.

I have a cousin named Ricky, so thats out.  Hehe Bender.  I've seen that show, but he doesn't seem to be a rude and mean piece of metal.  XD

A friend suggested Winfred but not sure if I want that either.

XD  I'm very picky when it comes to names.  I wait until I find just the right one.

Some alcohol names off the the top of my head.  Hmm, Jack or JD.  Jim Beam or Jim.  Ol' Grandad, Johnny Walker, Bailey, Absolut, Stoli.  I had a name theme with alcohol for awhile, with my pets, so it's something I've given thought to.

I suck with names! One of my hairless boys is named Raisin. Grin I like funny names for funny looking ratties! I wish I had suggestions but I'm totally out of creativity. If I have any ideas I'll let you know. Just wanted to tell you you're boy is a CUTIE. Are those dumbo ears I see?

So, with not even a month of having welcomed him into our home... he passed away.  He never received an official name, but was always called Old Man for a temporary name, so that is the name he shall keep.

I came home from work to find a tiny puddle of blood on the bottom of his cage, and he was dead by the time I came home from work the next day.  ;_;

He was such a sweet rat, and for only having him a month, that was way too short.

RIP Old Man!  Miss you!  *sends kisses to heaven*

Ouch!  I'm so sorry for your loss!
"only having him a month, that was way too short" ......  I can imagine how attached you must have become in "only" a month.  My deepest condolences.

Thank you everyone.  Well, he's roaming in Heaven with all the other ratties and mice we've had pass away as well.  Hehe.

I am just glad knowing that I spoil my rats galore.  XD  I normally go on a shopping spree and spend like $50 at least every month or two.  lol  I know he had it good here.

We had a thought that he was older when I got him too.  So, its not like he was a bouyant young rat who passed, he did appear elderly.

Well, it wasn't a pool of blood.  More like a puddle the size of a nickle.  Since he passed before I could do anything, I didn't take his corpse to the vet.  My boyfriends mother thinks it was either bladder infection, broken blood vessel, or that he was just plain dying.  We figured he was older after I got him.  At least he got to pass with people surrounding him with love other than at the pet store with people going, "Ew!  A rat!  A hairless rat!  Ick!"

Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die.

You mentioned that you bought him... Maybe in the future, go to a reputable rescue?  Most rescue rats are vet-checked before going home, and good rescues are up front with you on all health issues.  Some rescues even spay/neuter their rats previous to adoption.  Pet store rats often come home sick, and/or have a virus.

Yeah.  I got him from a petstore.  My roomate bought a chinchilla and I saw him all alone in a cage and I couldn't leave him behind because my roomate was buying a pet.  XD

Yeah.  I just posted on a different board that I will be buying from a breeder here on out.
