Pick the adoption option!

I admit, I'm terrible at math  Tongue  I'm not even going to bother attempting to figure out the dosage, though it's probably pretty easy.

I have 20mg/ml suspension of Baytril, and I'm giving it to my teensy boy, Fyn, who is a whopping 250 grams (just weighed him).  What dosage should I be giving?

Thanks! Blue Dumbo Smile

Depending on the problem 0.06ml (low dose) to 0.12ml (high dose) twice daily.

There isn't just a regular dose?  He has a persistent URI.  I've been giving him .2ml twice daily.

So, since it's 20 mg/ml, that means .65 cc's BID?

Lilspaz meant 10mg/kg dosage... for a 20mg/ml solution = 0.13ml twice daily.  So you should be giving 0.13ml.

Debbie D has some higher dosage recommendations in her booklet, but 10mg/kg is an actual dose published in all of the exotics textbooks I have looked at.  And rather than just increase the dosage, adding in a second antibiotic such as doxycycline is much more effective.

For long term maintenance therapy, personally I would definitely lower it from what you are giving.  The recommended dose for long term (such as lifelong) maintenance would be just 0.06ml twice daily.
