Rats are love

« on: May 14, 2008, 09:39:44 PM »

I have an adult male seal point siamese rex dumbo who needs a forever, loving home. Unfortunately he is VERY hormonal and seems to hate other rats. He doesn't mind being picked up and loves to play on the bed and couch, and likes giving kisses too. Sometimes he acts a little nervous though..and that is only since he got hormonal, so neutering would be a great idea if you can afford it.  I had to separate him from his brother and other cage-mate and he now lives alone on the bottom of my ferret nation. I really wish I could afford to neuter him, but I am unemployed and just don't have the money. I want him to find a home where he can be spoiled, since he is a loner male. If you think you can offer this guy a forever home, please contact me. I am asking for a $10 adoption fee. Thank you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

This is Rupert..

He is around 7 months old, no health issues at all in the past. Great coat, great weight. He grew up with his brother and 2 other cagemates, and always got along with them. Once he got around 4 or 5 months old he started to get hormonal and start fights with his cagemates. I had to serperate him eventually once the fights got too bad. I have never really tried him with babies... I think the best thing for him would be to get neutered. Thanks. Smiley

Quick question, are you not the person who bred this rat to begin with or are you the person who purchased him from the breeder?  Is this rat from a rattery called Masterpiece?
If the breeder has any shred of integrity and doesn't want their name plastered all over the place that they are breeding aggressive rats that are now being rehomed and taking away homes from rats being destroyed in Ontario as we speak, then maybe they should find some way to come up with the bloody money to neuter him.
Please, I am begging you to prove me wrong and and find me a breeder in Ontario that for once does right by those animals that they insist upon bringing into this world.
Oh, and by the way there is this huge rescue effort taking place in the Maritimes and some of the rats need to get to homes in Ontario.  If you feel so inclined, donate your leftover cash to all those who are spending a large amount of their spare time, and money that they don't have, and are making a huge effort to save some lives.  You can donate here:

I will pm this to you as well, just in case someone goes all book burning over this post and deletes it.

I would like to point out that Rupert is not aggressive in any way towards people. He simply does not like other male rats. This lovely boy is still available if anyone is interested. Smiley
