Okay help me out on this one everyone.  I've posted this question before but never gotten any answers.

Are rattie noses supposed to feel wet?  I've noticed my girls' noses feel wet but when I look at them, I don't think there's any poryphin there. (Or perhaps I should say, unusual poryphin.) Any ideas?

A rat's nose is actually supposed to be dry. If you're feeling any wetness then it could be the start of a URI even if you aren't seeing any porphyrin. I normally don't wait until I see the onslaught of symptoms before I run them to the vet. Rats have a tendency of going downhill very quickly, so maybe a vet visit is in order.

That's what I thought.  I guess I was hoping they might be like little puppy noses.  I agree with you though.  Since the girls just had URIs from the petstore in March, I'm thinking it's time to schedule a visit.
