Yeah, the question is in the subject line. Will Advantage kill them? Or should I use ivermectin (my mom ordered horse wormer so we should have that on hand soon, I have used it before).

I know they are lice because I saw the wee devils.

I've treated lice-y rats with Advantage before, and it does seem to work!  A lot less work-intensive than the ivermectin, too.  Smiley  One treatment lasts a month, which outlasts the life-cycle of the louse, so you just have to keep the cage clean, and be sure to freeze bedding!

Another thing that works is hanging a 1 inch long piece of Vapona No-Pest strip above your rats' cage for 24-48 hours. Works like a charm. You can find them at gardening or feed stores.

Thanks. I just dosed them, hopefully they'll feel better soon (as soon as they stop trying to lick eachother, hopefully yogies will distract them enough).

Advantage works with lice but NOT mites...so you should be just fine.
