Charge in deed! All of the boys in that litter are a bit, um, vocal. Meetoo will settle in, I'm sure. Very cute pictures!
I have mama Maggie - Mom to Meetoo, Bubble & Squeek (living with Lilija), Lady (with ChaoticSerenity), and Cosmo (on his way to Cheerio), plus Thelma and Louise (with my boys in NJ) and the four boys still "at home". I WILL make the camera work!

My boyfriend was reading this thread over my shoulder and said, "How could anyone feed that to a snake? They're [the rats] so intelligent." Snakes are cool and have their place in the world, but I feel that anyone who bought a rat as a feeder would end up falling in love with it (though of course that doesn't usually happen). There are so many cute fluffballs here!!
Gracie, hug your boyfriend for me!!! Most dudes just don't the rat thing, much less PEW's...
I
PEWS! My first rat was a PEW, Pinky (I know, how original... hey, I was 6) and since then I've had... three more. Pinky, Pearl, Peanut, and currently Clover. My mischief wouldn't be complete without one!
Also; I put one of your PEW awareness banners in my sig on a non-rat-related forum... we'll see about all the ratty PR I'll get to do! How do you get them to be static for here?

I'm missing the white fur

...well, maybe not that white...but a PEW none the less! He's a bit dingy and has a date with a baby wipe. I don't do baths unless really necessary. Too much stress for them. Here's my PEW pride and joy, Waffle man.

Ok, so I have been very very bad. I haven't posted my squishy boy I got from Stacy. Uh-oh...so here is a very large picture of Cosmo (unless I can get the little one to fit). I honestly believe with his attitude and personality, he's my
rat. My fiance still isn't crazy about him. He didn't dig the pink and white, and then Momo nipped his knee for some lovin'
so he's still not lovin' him too much yet. But as for me...consider me a sucker.

I had a driving test today, and me and the examiner somehow got to talking about rats (haha, I manage to swing any conversation that way) and she told me that, while she doesn't own rats or anything, that PEWs are actually her favourite. She likes the red eyes, because it makes them unique
Just thought I'd let you all know that there are some people who know nothing about rats (she said she's a cat or dog person... I informed her that rats are like a cross between cats and dogs, haha) who still love PEWs

I used to have a PEW girl named Stella. She was my first rat ever that I bought from PetCo (I didn't know much about rats at the time, and wasn't even aware that there were things such as rat rescues) because she kept running up to the glass every time I looked in. I was going to get a hamster, but they all had tried to take my fingers off (nasty little buggers) so I decided to try holding this one. She was the smallest in her tank and was actually housed with a bunch of males - how I managed to not end up with a bunch of babies is a miracle. The guy picked her up by her tail and swung her around, and I got so upset. When she was in my hands she just cuddled, bruxed and started doling out kisses! Of course she came home with me minutes later.
However, she was by far one of the sickest rats I've ever heard of. She had complementary mites, which lead to an inner ear infection, which led to a permanently damaged equilibrium and she also had nerve damage to her spine from what the vet suspected was being swung by her tail. The next couple years of her life, I probably went to the vet once every other month for treatment for some various virus or infection.
You would think this would make her ill-tempered, but it didn't in the slightest. She NEVER bit, she kissed everyone, won over more than 10 rats-haters (including my aunt who was TERRIFIED of rats - i the end, I had to fight with my aunt over who got to give Stella her baths) and was a complete mama's girl. She wanted nothing more than to be with me - often accompanying me to campus events or even some of my classes! For the most part people were never even the wiser, because she was content to snuggle in my coat. She was the sweetest and most gentle rat anyone could have ever hoped for, and she is by far the BEST PET I have EVER EVER had.
Which leads me to one of my more current dilemmas...I am not in a position to get another rat right now, and will probably have to wait not only until I get back home in the states (for those who don't know, I'm in Korea for a year teaching) but I will probably have to wait until my current alpha girl passes as she is VERY dominating and I don't want to cause stress for any other rats...However, I feel that I can't get another PEW again because if I do, I will be comparing them to Stella every time. I love my rats and will do anything for them, but there is no contest in saying Stella was my favorite. (Does this make me a bad person?) And I feel that if I were to have a PEW it wouldn't be fair to them, which is a shame, because they are absolutely ADORABLE in my opinion.
*sigh* thanks for letting me get that out, lol. Most people here just roll their eyes as soon as the word "rat" comes out of my mouth. They all call me the "Crazy Rat Lady".
I think they should get a rat and see how long it takes them to understand what I'm talking about.

Dang, I NEVER see PEWS around here. I would love one. Maybe when I get my bigger cage I'll have to post and see if anyone has a female or neutered PEW that needs a home.
Cute cute cute pics everyone!

I <3 my PEW baby! Her name is Pinky (original, i know) and she loves to burrow under the fleece. She is also quite the sleepyhead and won't wake up unless you forcibly lift her out of the cage! But she has quite the personality and fits right in with my girlies. Here they are all together. See Pinky's little snowy head?

My first 2 rats were (are) PEWS and I LOVE them. I rescued them from the feeder bin at Petco and I know it's not right to play favorites, but Ophelia is so brave and outgoing! We have a very special relationship.
I would take another PEW anyday! Yay for PEW awareness.

My first ever boy (after years of owning girls) was a PEW. His name was Henry, and he slowly, and undemonstrably stole my heart. He was such a GOOD boy. Neat, and clean, and well behaved. He'd come from an overcrowded cage, stuffed in with his brothers, who picked on him, so he was always scared of other rats, but he lived life to the full, in his quiet way. If I gave him a toy, he played with it. If I gave him a new bed, he slept in it, without chewing or pooing or peeing all over it. I could take his hammocks out a week after putting them in the cage, and press them against my face and sniff, and all I could smell was cleanness, and laundry liquid, and him (in the best way). I still miss him.

I love PEW rats. My first rat Spunky who I ended up adopting was a pew. I love PEW rats so much! I only have one now, his name is Harvey. I'll post a pic of him as soon as I upload it on my laptop. Can someone give me the code for the PEW awareness? I can't really copy the picture on a MacBook. I wanted to put it in my signatures.

i though i had a PEW but it turns out that my baby-girl Nova is a himi.
she is about 2 months old now and is the same size as my other girls who are 6 months
i am hoping she will get very big because all my rats are on the small side. come to think of it, i think she's even bigger than her brother...
anyway, i love her so much , she is the only rat i've met who comes when she is called (probably because she loves me so much!!) i can't wait to get home and play with her!!!! [pictures to come, camera battery =dead]
