I have 17 rats (11 female, 6 male) that are 3 1/2 months old and another litter of 6 (5 male, 1 female) that are a month old. Standard coats and ears and many colors available. A small, new, rattery in Lorain, OH! Check out my website and email me if interested.

www.darkwolfrattery.com

I'd only be willing to drive about 3 hours one way, because gas is so expensive and it's a hot summer. I don't ship but maybe something can be arranged driving wise for someone interested! At least thanks for looking!  Smiley

I'd like to add that I will be going on vacation (august 9th-14th) to Chicago (Tinley Park) and then down to Bloomington, Indiana so if anyone along that route (then back up to Ohio via Columbus up to Cleveland) and is interested please email me! I'm willing to bring them along if people are interested!

I'd also like to add that if I don't find homes by the time I go on vacation all but my residents will have to go a store near me. The girl's always been friendly to me and said there's always a place to bring them if needed. I cannot leave my parents to deal with this many rats so it's a last option. Please help me out?

Please do not breed anymore if you are unable to accept the responsiblities that come with it.   Puppy Dog Eyes:

A "breeder" shouldn't produce more rats than they can care for.  You come on here to say if people don't take them they will go to a pet shop.  Then on another thread you are asking another goose member to give her rats to you...it just doesn't sound very responsible....and I am just asking you to please think about what you are doing before you add more rats in an unstable situation.   Wink

I can care for them, my Parents not so much. i'm trying to be responsible and give the babies a better chance at finding a home. my parents understand me keeping residents, but not the offspring. i personally can take care of them all, or they would have been gone long ago. that's not the issue. the issue is my parents with the babies. they don't mind that i keep and have some to keep, but the babies they don't want. i don't know how else to say it. it might not seem to make sense, but i know my situation here even if i can't explain it well

I looked up some rat rescues around Columbus and Cleveland. Your babies would be safer in a rescue than a pet store.

http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Small%26Furry&pet.Breed=rat&pet.Age=&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=43201 <---These listings show the rescues in Worthington and Cincinnati. Worthington is butted up directly north of Columbus. Cincinnati is about an hour and 45 minutes away from Columbus, but, hey, it's the next closest rat rescue. (You probably already know this from planning for your vacation, but Columbus is about 2 1/2 hours away from Cleveland.)

http://www.freewebs.com/nimueshaven/<---Springfield is about an hour outside of Columbus.

http://www.myspace.com/ratgrrl_005<--- This one is in Elyria.

i just placed 4 babies (2 female, 2 male) and i have 2 more girls reserved. they should be going to their new home sometime this week. that leaves 14 that could be placed. i'm saying "could be" because i'm thinking up ways to keep them all fed while i'm away for 6 days. i can't trust my parents to actually open the cages and feed them. but still. 14 babies! 6 girls and 8 boys looking for a new home if i can find one.

also, my website seems to be having issues, i need to ask my dad about it. the girls page works, same as the home page. the rest dont =( email me for pics then!

Ignoring the fact that they need social interaction still - you can buy feeders that attach to the cage that hold a week supply.

I use a rat sitter when I go on vacation. Call around and find one.

i really don't trust anyone to come into my parents house, whether they're here or not, and take care of them. and i don't think my parents would appreciate that much. i'm trying to make the best out of this situation, and i'm getting no slack. i know of no one else, and i'm not calling in a stranger into my house. ignoring the fact they'll be starved for attention, they'll be fed, watered, and alive and can go back to being spoiled when i get home.

i'm still trying to place the others, if i can. if not they'll stay here. and i'm still willing to bring them along if anyone on my vacation route is interested.

Leaving them alone is better than a sitter? What? A pet sitter is not some random stranger. Call an agency, interview the sitters, and pick one you like. My pet sitter is wonderful, she loves all my pets and they love her. Having someone come over and play with them is NOT worse than them being alone and "starved for attention".

Do you never talk to your parents? Are you old enough to pay for things yourself?

It's 6 days!  They will be fine with out one on one attention for less than a week.  Wolf...can you post pix on here?

I agree to give the kid a break!  They are doing what they can and has someone to feed and water them.  At least they aren't going to be abandoned somewhere.  Give them lots of attention when you get back Wink

thanks. and don't worry, they will! it could be a worse situation, and it almost was, but i'm working around it. they'll be taken care of and i might have found a home for 2 more. i'm not banking on finding them homes, unless someone really wants a pair of their own. otherwise they'll stay here

i doubt this will go anywhere BUT i only have 4 boys left that need homes. and my trip to chicago and indiana is still on, so if anyone would like any of the 4 let me know. i'd prefer they go in pairs. i'm already taking 4 girls on this trip, so another cage with boys would be no problem. otherwise the rest have been adopted, except of course the ones i'm keeping =)

I am looking for at least 2 more rats, well they are for my sister. She said she wanted a couple so I told her I would find her a couple for her birthday. I will be in zanesville ohio august 21-28th.Zanesville is not quite 3 hours away. I was going to give her some of my babies but by the time they are weaned I will be back home in kentucky and it is a 6 hour drive...She wanted dumbo's but Im not sure what you have availible with females. She specifically told me she wanted females, lol. If you have any dumbo's let me know, she would give them a great home! We have raised rats, mice, gerbils and just about everything else since we were kids. Just please let me know, thanks!
