A week or so ago there was a boy up for adoption at Petco. I think a family surrendered him to Petco because my Petco only sells girls. So he was all alone in his 10 gal aquarium on Carefresh with just an igloo. I felt horrible, but knew I couldn't take him in. Well yesterday Cameron and I went back to Petco and he was still up for adoption! I decided I needed to at least hold him. So I did, and he bruxed while I gave him scritches and he licked my hand then went right up to my shoulder. I decided he had picked me and he was mine. So I went back today and got hims  He's going in on Monday for his neuter, then he'll be living with my five girls (after q-tine of course). He's gonna be a ladies man! Without further ado... here's Squiptch!

Right now he's on my shoulder, hiding in my hair and bruxing. Last night he was just hanging out on the couch with me. I would give him tons of scritches while he gave me kisses. Then the most remarkable thing happened.... he laid on his side, held still, and let me rub his tummy for about 5 minutes. Now I have all girls, and girls will explore and every once in a while give you a kiss to let you know they love you, but will keep on running. So having a rat actually sit still and let you give love... that's a miracle.

I'm in love 

Yup that's true! The colours were reversed.

-     LOVE Mr. Squiptch (the name I can't pronounce  )  he is adorable and obviously so sweet and sociable for being a pet-shop rat of a certain age.   What a doll!   You will love the cuddly, relaxed boy-love that he'll give. 

Well, my big boy is at the vet's right now, and will be getting his neuter today! Wish us luck! I didn't even have enough time to get used to his goolies 

I wish I could give him separate air space, I honestly do. I was able to have my two new baby girls at a completely different house when I adopted them. Unfortunately, the person who lived at that house now lives with me (unfortunate that he can't take them, not that he's living with me, heh). The only other person I know who would be willing to take him in for three weeks has rats herself- so that doesn't work. Right now he's downstairs in his own cage, while the girls are upstairs with the vent closed. I know it could be much better, but I truely don't have any other options. And if- God forbid- something did happen to my girls, I am fully capable of covering all vet costs (not that I'm ok with them getting sick or injured in any way). Girl Scouts honor 

He is a very handsome boy - a very lucky one! All paws are crossed for the neuter. He probably can't wait to have a harem soon.

And here lately I've been noticing more and more boys wear pink...hmm...

I was quoted $349.00 for Frodos neuter. I ended up paying $242.00. A lot of money for such little, uh....things? Your boy is very handsome!! You can tell he is going to be a little love.

Well the little guy is still in the pink. I'll change it when he gets neutered.

I was too chicken to call the vet and reschedule, so Italian did it for me (thank you lovah). Soooo now he's going in on Friday to get a little snippity snip!
