Well, Shingo and Jinto has broccoli for the first time yesterday. I hung it from the top of their cage to give them a little bit of a challenge. The results were.. hilarious. I got a few pictures, and a couple videos Cheesy

Chowing down.

Jinto on the left, Shingo on the right.

Jinto, the little porker, eating as fast as he can.. but where's Shingo?

Hi mom!!

he just seemed to love the camera, once he got over the flash

Getting closer and closer to the camera....

And, of course, even though there are 2 pieces of Broccoli, they both want the same one!

and of course, a short little video of them being cute. Not very good quality (then again, the pictures aren't that great either...)

I tried making a pinata out of a toilet paper tube, but they're having some troubles figuring it out.. same with the box filled with kleenex and treats.. they don't really get it..

*edited, so you can see the pics and not have to follow links *
**edited again, because you apparentally can't do that with deviantart x2**
***edited a third time, becuase someone showed me how to do it Cheesy***

That broccoli thing is cute!

I got this picture to embed. Your issue might be that you were trying to embed the link to the page when you really want the link to the image. I right-clicked on the image and selected "View Image", (Firefox) which put it on its own web page; then I copied and pasted the html from the address bar.

Absolutely!  The other rat's food ALWAYS tastes better!!  LOL

I love the idea of hanging food from a string to make it more interesting.  I've used the kabob, but hanging would make it much more difficult (and interesting) to get at.  I can't wait to try it!

oh, alright, I'll go fix that! Thanks!

*edit... I seem to be doing alot of this. I don't have firefox and you can't do it with explorer. I would download firefox, but this is my moms computer and she doesn't want firefox on it... dunno why*

Yeah, it was pretty difficult. Especially for Shingo (the champagne), he's a little younger = a little smaller. When I was hanging them up, Jinto got to go for a little ride. He had climbed up the side of his cage while I was tying them (so the broccoli was in the cage, but not low enough yet for them to get it), and he JUMPED and grabbed onto the broccoli. So, of course, I had to lower it for him and then we had a tug-a-war over who got the broccoli...

haha, I tried making a pinata out of a toilet paper tube, yesterday. I closed only one end, and then left the top open. Well, they didn't really seem to get it, so I left it there over night. I wake up this morning to see that they had thrown their "house" (a pop tarts box) from one of their shelves, down to the bottom, then dragged it under the pinata so they could stand on it and just grab the broccoli from the top... clever little guys...

You can do it from Internet Explorer too.  Just right-click on the picture, and then click "properties."  Then copy the URL address from there.  Then, add
[ img ] url [ /img ], except replace the word url with the actual url and no spaces.

Looks like this:

yeah., mog, your rats are probably hotter than mine. You're on a third story, and my rats are in the basement.

Jinto doesn't find it a challenge for very long anymore. he's figured out that if he pulls on the broccoli, he can reach the twine and just chew through that (this is totally my favourite emoticon. I love it...)
