Small Update on my Crew..new pics of the Phat Girls 7/4

Well now that the dust has settled from the Train, life can go back to normal-ish.  So I decided on quick updates on some of my crew, and of course this means pics.

Sweetpea declined any pics, she was snoozing very happily inside the lining of her once “flat” hammie. 

but Calla Brighteyes was fine with it...I think she may have bounced like she wanted to play with me in her cage!

Asti and Carina woke up really fast when I opened their door, the beige nose is either Keely or Bridget.

Wilbur is aging fast, doesn’t see well and seems to prefer to sleep at the bottom of the cage these days…but he’s still my licky man.


Dilbert’s hammock has been empty for days now…finally today 29 month old Vesta and 32 month old Asha decided that they could enjoy it again.

And Valora and 30 month old Aura show their chubby feet


And finally Goliath…
Goli runs on the wheel like Brie used to…a funny bounce run that makes him not go back and forth like other less accomplished wheelrunners do, but stay very still in the middle.  Brie was a master at it, but Goli sure looks like her at times.

At this point after taking in the 8 rescues from the Moncton situation, I have too many rats, but I have a lot of older rats as well...sadly.. and another Wildling that will need to be pts sometime soonish.

Chubby feeties is Aura, she was a young mom who was about to be euthanized at a shelter along with her four seven week old daughters.  Now she's 30 months and her 2 remaining girls are 25 months old

Wonderful to see "happy" pictures! I know you have had a lot of sadness lately. I agree with nancycccslp. If you want a perfect example of what a happy, healthy and loved rat looks like, no need to go further than Shelagh's house.  She is a miracle worker.

Now THOSE are what I call HAPPY RATS!!!

Wow! They are smiling, they have their feet up in the air - that complete trust in you is very clear from their eyes. Man, they surely love you! May I say again... if I ever come back to this world after I pass away, I would love to come back as a rat in Shelagh's house. Would you please find me then, Shelagh?

I LOVE to read updates on your rats and oh boy, Goliath!!! What a hunk!!! WHOA!!! 

While on the one hand it is indeed very sad that you have been going through so many losses, on the other hand it means that so many of them were lucky to have found you and they experienced true love before they passed away.
The more rats one has, the more passing one goes through. Yes, your recent postings have been about your kids who passed away, but in a way it is wonderful to read their story and to know that they had you in their life. Does this make any sense? They were happy with you and you celebrate their life by writing a memorial.

Calla is adorable but Goliath has captured my heart! Playing favorites here...

She's sooo sweet, and does the casual lick lick when your hand is nearby.

And as you can see, she's overweight but not badly, we have a chance at getting her to a much better/healthier weight


And Sweetpea came out of the hammie.  Yesterday she actually bit me (hard pinch, no broken skin) twice when she was in her hammock...she's a bit cage aggressive but thats easy to work through,  I just let her pull my hand into the hammock. Maybe I woke her up?  It was my fault as always.

She has a serious weight issue, her skin is tight, so she's packed in there...maximum density.  I'll have to be very careful when I work on her diet...she's older.
She now waits for me in the morning, and we have a lovely petting session...she flattens out (this girl really does pancake) and closes her eyes.


She has the shortest squarish head but its pretty in my books.
