Weird, and proud of it!

« on: July 18, 2008, 11:20:10 AM »

She almost made it to 2.5.  But, in the end, she decided to join her sister.  She had a couple of slow-growing mammary tumors, and I guess they took more out of her than I thought.  Last night, I noticed she didn't come out when we put the food in her cage.  She had been fine and energetic the night before.  Then, I saw her curled up in the corner.  She was still breathing, but cool to the touch, and not interested in food.  I got her to take a little bit of water from a syringe, but she didn't want anything else.  I tucked her into the hospital cage with some food and warm fleece, and covered it to keep her safe from drafts, but I told her that it was okay to go, if she needed to, and that her sister would be waiting for her.  I found her this morning.  It looks like she passed in her sleep, which is a good way to go.

Farewell my Blitzy-girl.  Join your sister and run free.  We'll miss you terribly, but I'm so glad you're not in pain, and that you didn't suffer.   Cry
