Loving every day with my 7 ratlings

« on: July 20, 2008, 01:55:01 AM »

I know there are a few people here that use them in their cages.  I'm thinking of putting them under a piece of fleece for the bottom level of the cage instead of the paper I have to clean twice a day.  Anyway, I spend a LOT of time in the hospital because of having lupus...and while I was there the other day, I noticed something.  They have something called a Chux Pad, it's the pad they put on top of the sheet in a hospital bed.  Absorbent, soft, and big!  Also cheaper than Wee Wee Pads.  You can get 100 of them for about $15....try finding that price for 100 dog pee pads.  I looked them up, and the same company that makes them ALSO makes the dog pads...so it's the same thing!

Just thought some of you might want this money saving tip.  Smiley  If anybody finds something better...I'm all ears!

Personally, I wouldn't use them due to rats chewing.   I doubt the contents would be good for the rats to ingest.

IMO it is no different than a rat chewing on its fleece bedding, or cardboard box.
