From Shylah:

I have a very sad announcement.
I have no choice but to stop breeding and rescuing at this time.
It is not my choice, and I am devastated at having to find homes for all of my sweet little ones.
I just rescued 3 sweet little boys a few days before I was told I could no longer do this.
Unfortunately this means I do have a large amount of ratties that are looking for new homes. I only have until July 11th to find homes for everyone.
I will be talking to my boss about possibly boarding them at the hospital until homes can be found. I do not anticipate a problem, but I can not expect her to do this (but can hope).
If you are looking for any wonderful rats--

Here is a tiny url link to Shylah's adoptable rats.

Anyone interested please contact Shylah at vet_tech_247@hotmail.com.

Please note below that transport is available to "Manassas VA and will be willing to travel south on 95 towards Fredericksburg or west out to Rt 66," in:

Transport to points in PA and more is being planned.

Oh gosh that's so sad! I met them at the rodent fest in Reading, PA a few months ago and they seemed really nice. Unfortunately, I cannot take in any more rats at this time, but I would be willing to help with transportation anywhere in NEPA if there is any interest. You can send me a message on here or email me if you still have my email (I helped with the Syracuse to MD run in early June) if you find that you need me.

Of course, I have your email! You are a favorite person who helped us so much in the last rattie train! Thank you, again! I just emailed you and copied the principals.

SNR is a fabulous Breeder, my two girls are from her, so please don't feel like this is a shady environment to get your babies from!

I will be driving down on the 18 to transport her babies to Northern Baltimore area,  so if anyone wants to add their order to that list and pick up in the baltimore area, just let her know and she'll add it to my car! It will save you almost 2hours of driving time if you are coming from the north area!

I just wanted to add this, so people were aware.

Shylah is a awesome person, who is devastated at the moment to give up her rattery. Don't let the location deter you, we are all trying to set up routes for easier pick up because of the short notice!

Oh no! Poor Shylah :[! This is terrible timing for me too, cause I'm moving to a place where rats are illegal, so I can't get any of her gorgeous rats!
I wish her the best!

I second how devastated Shylah is to have to be rehoming all of her beloved ratties.  She helped me get my start in breeding and most of my rats trace back to her original breeding rats.  I'm offering transport down into Va if anyone is interested in her rats.  I'm taking several and will likely be making the tip to La Plata next week sometime?  Still wokring out the details but I'm in Manassas VA and will be willing to travel south on 95 towards Fredericksburg or west out to Rt 66 to meet up with adopters.  PM me if I can help you.

Anyone interested please contact Shylah at vet_tech_247@hotmail.com.

That's the best way to get a hold of her! Her website also has an up to date list of available little ones!

sherri21: You are brand new here on the forum so you don't have PM priviledges just yet.  My contact information is in my profile although you'll need to contact Shylah first to see if she has any ratties you would be interested in.  As far as I know she does not have any neutered males but I know has a nice selection of females.  I will be trying to get over there next week to pick up my rats so I can pick yours up as well if you are interested.  Shylah's information - website and email - is listed in this thread and she knows who I am, you can tell her Kristen/dante bRats will be able to transport your rat for you.  I'm also available through instant messenger - my profile should list all that information.
Thanks!

Do we know if there are any young males available? I can't guarantee anything, but if they're young enough (despite multiple neuters in my mischief, many of my boys have issues introing with anything other than young little ones) I'd try. I tried looking on her myspace, it just doesn't seem to be super specific.

The youngest boys would be found in the albums under GRP Jackaroo x Teachers Pet of SNR and also Yagermonster x California Mudslide.  I'm not sure of their actual birthdates but know they'd be the youngest in the available crowd.  My best suggestion would be to email Shylah, she's happy to help with any questions and she is not on this forum so email would work best.

Thanks Kristen! I emailed her. There are 3 young boys about the perfect age for intros to my crew on her page. I've emailed her back in reference to transportation. I'm in Norfolk, could someone meet me somewhere closer than DC area to bring them to me possibly? I don't mind driving to Richmond, but with the summer/beach/busch gardens traffic, it gets to be gridlocked by like 9 am. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!  Ratty Smiley

Hi cheerio, krazycatlady, and anybody with transport and travel issues,

In addition to contacting Shylah:  vet_tech_247@hotmail.com  you might also email Karen Borga, karenborga@yahoo.com  in case she can help you put a rattie train together. She is our Rescue Placement and Transport Coordinator. She is not active on goosemoose yet, so please email her.

On Pittsburgh, krazycatlady, can you get to the Reading PA area? Wanda and Tony of Boyertown PA offered to help with rat transport and they are near Reading.

Thank you! Raquel http://www.meetup.com/New-York-Rat-Group/  adoption help, several states

I need a hook up from Fredericksburg to Richmond, if anyone is available! Someone can pick up the rugrats for me, but can only bring them down as far as Fredericksburg- which is a huge help! Thanks for any help!!!

Unfortunately my quarantine situation may no longer be conducive to take any of these little boys. My in-laws upstairs plumbing is now sitting in their living room, per a text I just received at work from my husband. Dependent on how much work needs to be done in their home will make the final decision. As of right now I am on hold and not able to make a decision, so not able to help in any way. I can't jeopardize my rats health, and have nowhere else to q-tine at this time. If it comes to be that there will be minimal construction on the house, then I may again be available. If not, best wishes to all involved!!!

Okay I just spoke with Shylah and I'll be going there late this saturday evening to pick up the kidz I'm getting from her.  If anyone needs transport South into Va please email me so we can get this all figured out [lovespaniels at gmail dot com] or catch me on Yahoo or AIM - my SN's are listed in my profile.  I can go as far West of Manassas as 66 where 234 intersects or South on I-95 as far as Fredericksburg.  I'm happy to help out any way I can, just contact me.

@KrazycatLady:   On the 18th, I will be transporting little ones from La Plata, MD to Baltimore, MD. I know that still leaves  you with atleast a 4 hour drive. But if anyone is in that area that can drive  to meet you, I can pick up that transporters rats as well while I'm done in La Plata and save that nice person the drive as well!

Dear krazycatlady,

You may wish to make a separate new topic asking for rat transport help between Baltimore MD and Pittsburgh PA. If you really want to try this, I can help by posting on yahoogroups. Please see if Shylah wants us to do this:  vet_tech_247@hotmail.com  Thank you!
