On Feb. 19th, I rescued a very pregnant Ima (Black dumbo w/small white mark on her chest) from a pet store that would rather save money than care for it's rats.  On Feb. 22, at 9pm, Ima gave birth to 14 beautiful babies, and has proved herself to be an incredible mother (especially considering she was only around 8 weeks old when I found her).

Now, I was only allowed to bring Ima (and now her babies) home under the assumption that once they were weaned, they would either be adopted or be going back to the pet store.  This pet store is so awful that there's no way I can allow that to happen.  So, if I cannot find good forever homes for Ima and her beautiful babes, then I'm going to have to find a new home for myself in order to keep them.   Blue Dumbo Big Eyes  Ima can tell you the whole story herself on her and her babies' new website..  www.thefuzzbutts.shutterfly.com

Along with Ima's story, you'll find tons of pictures and videos documenting her babies' growth.. they're absolutely adorable!!  Come on over and check them out!   Blue Dumbo Smile

Thank you, theratchick

Shaz, yep, I'm in Fort Atkinson.. which is about 30min. east of Madison, and maybe an hour and a half west of Milwaukee.  Would you be interested?  I would be willing to travel somewhat, otherwise we may be able to get a 'rattie train' going.

I'm all the way down in the St. Louis, MO area but would be interested in two boys if there were a rattie train happening to the south...   Grin

KainRacure: I have someone already that wants the blue rex girl, the blue boy, the fawn rex girl, and possibly the fawn boy.. leaving the standard fur blue female and the standard fawn female (and the black babies).  If she's unable to take them, though, would you still be interested?  Would you like me to contact you if she doesn't follow through?

Beanjelly:  I'm not sure how to get a rattie train going, but if there is one then let me know which two you'd like.. if you check the website, I have the babies numbered in some of the more recent albums.

I'm very likely traveling to Madison, WI on March 8th and will be leaving on the 10th. I live in Kalamazoo, MI. So I could very likely help with a train from Madison, WI up through Kalamazoo, if anyone is interested.

I have someone up here that will take all of the girls that you dont have homes for. She really liked the blues but has love and space for any girls, she already has girls in a double CN, three of them and is looking for rescues/non pet store ratties. Shaz

That is wonderful!  Does she know, though, that the babies' mother is from a pet store (and not a good one at that)?  So far, only Ima, one black female, one black male, and the blue and fawn males are spoken for.. so that leaves six girls as of now.  Can she handle that many?  The blue rex and fawn rex females may have a home already, but it isn't a for sure thing yet.  I'm expecting to find out closer to time for them to be adopted.  If she would like to contact me, my email address is thispirit8@yahoo.com.

Ima (Momma) is the closest to a black self I've got.. she just has the tiniest white mark on her chest.. otherwise, her black dumbo female daughter is a berkshire.
