Hello everyone,
There were 150+ rats dumped off at Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge a few weeks ago. Several members of the RMFE forum have gone and adopted rats from AWL, either for themselves or to foster. Between 7 people I know there have been 70 rats rescued and there are currently about 45 rats still in a cold garage that need to get out of AWL as soon as possible.
These rats are very sweet and gentle with faces that will melt your heart in seconds. I have three for myself and let me tell you they couldn't be sweeter even if I raised them myself from day one. These babies are the best. They sit with me and watch TV for hours and love to give kisses and rattie "hugs". I have met several other AWL rats and they were equally as sweet and gentle.
Colors include fawn, beige, cream, agouti, black, mink/lilac, pink-eyed-white, and others in standard and dumbo ears. There are even pink-eyed-white dumbos, people! Ages range from about 4-6wks onward, a lot of them being very young adults (6-10wks). The older gals are just as sweet and friendly and have gorgeous expressions.
These sweethearts have only a few days left before they are put to sleep. If anyone can foster or adopt please go to AWL and pick up one, two...four...whatever. If you need someone to hold them for you until you can come and pick them up, please let us know! If you are attending the RMFE show and can make room for one more rat in your family, let us know. We can hold them for you. But these rats don't have that much time left at AWL. If you want to help one of these VERY sweet ratties...give a hollar.
Think of one rat you can help. What a difference it would make in his/her life to come into your home, be loved on, fed good food, and sheltered in a warm house. Think about it...it's just one more rat...but you will have saved their life! It makes all the difference to that one little rat. Please help...
