Wet dog food?

I have a question about wet dog food. My rats are fed a cup of Suebee's mix in the morning, and at nighttime, fed some sort of "quiet food" -- rice, cooked pasta, wheat bread, etc. (The rats are in my room, and I'm CONVINCED that they save the "crunchy" stuff for when I'm trying to sleep ). Now, my question is this: will it be okay to give them a small pouch of Nutro Senior dog food at nighttime, maybe every other night or so? The pouch would be divided by five rats, so it's not like they'd be having huge portions. I'm just trying to think of new things to give them that are beneficial to their health.
Suggestions?

From the back of Nutro's Weight Management cat pouches:
Crude Protein (min.): 8.00%
Crude Fat (min.): 3.00%
This is what we feed our cats. I would imagine the dog pouches have less protein and fat. Would this be too much for them?

and dog food smells lol , I would pick something that smells better, though I must admit cat food smells worse! I was given a bunch of free samples of wet cat and dog food once, thought I would give some to the rats as a treat one day, and ewwwww cat food smells lol (can you tell I have never had a cat or dog? hehe)

How about every three or four days, then, instead of every other day? They're already pretty hefty boys as it is, and if they WILL gain weight with it, I'd rather ration it less or not use it altogether. Blegh.. just looking for a little variety.

Yeah I use Nutro Lite, and it has 14% protein, which what was recommended from another forum. Too much protein can cause problems in the rat. The dog food is clean, easy to pick up, and it doesn't smell! My rats love it!

My smelly comment went meant to apply to the "wet" dog and cat foods
