I love my little stinks.

« on: May 20, 2003, 08:03:37 PM »

Due to an adoption falling through, I have 4 female ratties for adoption.

1- Dumbo eared, mink berkshire
1- Standard eared, mink self
1- Standard eared, agouti self
1- Standard eared, agouti (broken) hooded

All 4 of these girls are between 4 and 6 monthes of age (they're a rescue from the Chicago Animal Welfare League). I am 100% positive that none of them are pregnant nor have they been with or even near a male in more than 4 weeks. These girls are still shy, but I have been working with them to get them to be quite the little lap ratties. The dumbo eared one is learning to shoulder sit and is doing quite well. They are currently eating Suebee's rat diet along with a bowl of veggies everyday and fruit every other day. I would keep them, but don't feel that I can give them all the love and attention they need (plus, they were never supposed to stay here long anyway, although the longer they stay, the more I get to kiss them  Kiss ). I do request that an adoption contract be signed which requires that these little ladies NEVER be bred under any circumstances. There is a small adoption fee ($7 for 1 or $12 for 2) to offset the cost of driving to chicago to pick them up as well as the price of food for the past 4 weeks. I will meet a reasonable distance to drop them off if my gas is paid.

Under no circumstances will I sell these girls for snake food, so don't ask. I have the right to deny a person the adoption of these wonderful girls at my discretion. While I will adopt to new rat owners, this is only if they can prove that they are willing to learn and have read up on the care of rats.

I hope that didn't sound harsh  Shocked 2 , but I've become quite attached to these little girls and wouldn't want anything bad to happen to them. If you're interested, please feel free to contact me at:

kikoalex@imsa.edu

I will respond back and phone numbers can be exchanged via e-mail. I live in West Lafayette, IN and have family in Monee, IL (near Chicago). I will be willing to drive an hour in any direction from West Lafayette, IN or if gas is paid to get to Chicago, an hour in any direction there. Pictures will be available as requested or when I get around to taking pictures of their cute little faces.

I finally have pictures of these little cuties.  The agouti self and the agouti hooded have both been reserved, so here are pictures of the dumbo eared mink and the self mink.

This is the dumbo eared mink:

These are the self mink:

Is the Dumbo Mink girl like, bigger than the others? Like an adult? I think I remember her when she was up here..

Very cute girls!

Honestly, I can't tell if she's full grown or not.  I've got one girl here who I'm pretty sure is an adult (She's the biggest of everyone), but everyone else is smaller than her.  None of them are very young though (except for my little Angel girl  Kiss ).  And even she is hardly a baby.  I doubt there would have been very many dumbo eared minks though, so she could very well be the one you're thinking of.  She is the craziest little monkey girl I've ever seen.  She's so sweet when she's in the cage playing with the other ratties, but when she gets out for play time, I have to chase her down to keep her from doing too many crazy things.  You'd think I'd just given her 10 yogurt drops, the way she runs around and climbs all over me and everything else.    Roll Eyes
