Hey!
I wondered what kind of cages you all have and how many rats are homed in it?
This is my cage for two rats. Soon I will get a bigger one so Here is more space for more rats!
(I know, it's a little bit pink, but that used to be a shirt of my mom...

I like pink!
Our ratties live in a vollière/birdcage. We have 7 girls and they really enjoy being roommates.
What kind of new cage are you planning to get?

I prefer and TRY to use Martin's cages for all my rescues --
right now I have a martins 600HR for my meece, a 685 for one cage of rats, a Ferret cage for another, and two more ferret cages on the way for the rest of the rescues...I also have some random cages being used across the board for rescues -- but can't put description sof all 6 of them

These are my three cages (you can sort of see rats in all three):
On
this
page are more pictures of the cages, with the rats all labeled.

Martin's R-695... and you can see all four boys in this pic.
I took it on Saturday after cage cleaning, so they are exploring, wondering where all their "stuff" went.

Beautiful cages!
I'll get sort of the same cage, but a little bit bigger. An those two I will try to combine, so the girls will have a true rat-castle!

I have 3 cages right now, 2 containing rats, one for mice, but I will hopefully be getting a Ruud for my Birthday/Christmas present.
Holds five girls- (You can tell why I want a Ruud- GALVANIZED, blech!)
Holds two boys who stink and poop too much.
Holds my three mice who stink and poop too much. (my boy rats stink worse!) This cage is not as big as it looks- 3' tall, 13" wide, 18" long.

Ugh.. I HATE that cage. It's WAY overpriced. It's $119 here at our Petsmart, and in my opinion, it can only safely hold two rats.
I'll always stick with Martin's. We have two 695's, each with five rats in them, and one 670 with two boys.

When I first got my baby boys, this is what the petstore person told me to buy. I had to put up cardboard on the sides because they could squeeze out of the holes! Wayyyyy too small for two rats too.
But now, I am older and wiser LOL This is my girl's cage; the boy's cage is identical. Both are the same as Martin's 695, built to specs by Jen (Amphigorey). I love them and so do my rats!

Oh man. I have two Martins Cages, the R-690 and the RUUD. Three converted cockatiel-style cages with solid bottoms, two guinea pig style cages, and a couple 20-40 gallon aquariums and converted tubs. I hope to get another martins cage when I manage to find another job.
EDIT - my birthday is in a month and a half, duh! I'll ask my Mom for another martins cage, I also like them the best. I can do more with them and set up more toys.

I'm planning on borrowing a friends digicam tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to contribute soon.
Just curious, how do you guys manage to get photos of your ratties just sitting normally. Whenever I go near my cage all I see are big ol' rat bellies pressed against the bars, begging to come out.

I have 3 girls and a neutered male in a martin's r695. Sometimes it doesn't seem big enough.

I've got a martins r-690 for my 2 girls, and then the same cage stripedrats has for my 3 boys, the white one from petsmart... I'm actually in the process of switching them though...
