Actually the SARS-Suddenly Acquired Rat Syndrome phrase wasn't a joke. I lived it when I was driving away from the Menlo Rescue with about 50 rats in two stinking cages in the back of my car.
It was touch and go getting out of there and I was still wearing the face mask I had on when I was working in the house. Plus a big old ugly 'do-rag on my head to protect my hair from the mites and giant sunglasses. People in the cars around us were giving us strange looks. Face masks have taken on a new significance since the SARS outbreaks.
That's when Lile and I decided we had come down with a huge case of Suddenly Acquired Rat Syndrome. Don't worry, it's only contagious in forums like these.
