I'm just a little girl with grey eyes...

« on: May 18, 2003, 05:20:41 PM »

Hi, my name is Helena. I am a student at the
College of William and Mary who has, unfortunately,
graduated a year early. This has thrown all of my
housing and future plans into extreme chaos. I have two
beautiful male rats that I now need to place with a
home. I don't know where I will be or what I will be
doing in the near future, and am unable to care for my
rats past the month of July Sad 2. I have had this pair for
about a year. Here follows a description of the two:

Name: Stevo
Age: approx. 14 months.
Color: red-eyed white
Wieght: 0.75 lbs.
Nature: Stevo is a very sweet and intelligent rat and
completely adapted to human interaction. He has never
bitten anybody, and likes to groom people as much as he
does his cage mate. He is comfortable in outside
environments, including car rides, and unafraid of
nearly everything but cats.
Medical History: Stevo has been checked out at Godspeed
Animal Clininc in Williamsurg, VA. About six months ago
he developed a mild case of pasteurella, which was
treated with a three-week course of antibiotics and has
since cleared up completely. Other than that, he has
not had any other ailments and is very healthy and
active.

Name: Tim
Age: approx. 15 months
Color: biege with a white tummy and black eyes.
Wieght: 1 lb. even.
Nature: Tim is more shy and reclusive than Stevo, but
he is a lot more willing to sit still and have his head
and back scratched. He also would rather cuddle inside
then go for a shoulder or car ride outdoors. He has
very long, thick fur and nails that need to be clipped
occasionally (they grow at an astonishing rate).
Medical History: Same as Stevo's.

I love my rats, and rather than give them to one of my
friends who has no history in rat-ownership and is in
various states of housing transition, I want to try and
place them with some one who has had previous
expieriance with ratties and will be able to provide
them with a stable home. They come with their cage,
which is a 3 ft. by 2 ft. wire one that has two shelves
and a hanging fabric tunnel, as well as bedding and
food. A picture of both cage and rats is available on
request. They are currently being fed on Debbie's
famous molasses mix diet, but I keep some vitakraft rat
menu and lab blocks in case I run short unexpectedly.
Any help you can give me in placing Tim and Stevo is
greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

PS: I would obviously like to place them in Virginia,
but I would be willing to drive as far as the DC area
or anywhere within two hours of Williamsburg to give
the boys a good home.

More info would be great... y'know, have you previously owned rats, do you have a vet, blah blah blah. Do you have AOL IM? We can talk on that. My name is Helena III on IM and I'm on right now. That goes for anyone else wants to talk to me on IM.
