*sniff sniff* you smell like a treat!

i just got home from work and was sitting down to relax for a minute before letting my boys run around the couch for the evening.  the next thing i know, there was a furry thing on my foot.  i look down, and there was taki.  he must have gotten down from the table (their cage is up on a 2-foot high table, and the doors are always open) and scurried his way out of the bedroom into the living room...  just to say hi to mom!  he's such a sweetie.

needless to say, i need to do something so that he's not running around all the time.  all 4 boys were a little angry that i actually closed the doors to their cage.  it was so pathetic, seeing 4 little noses sticking out from between the bars...

hmm, maybe this is a sign.  i need to rat-proof the apartment... or at least the bedroom.

of my newest group, i have only had one surprise visit so far.  i was asleep on the couch and someone must have pushed leena out of the cage because i woke up to a wet tounge on my face.

angel (passed on) was by far my worst.  she was always in seek mode.  "gotta find mommy, gotta find mommy"  and she wasn't afraid of heights or distance.  pass by the cage, boomp, now there's a rat on your shoulder.  keep the cage too close to any furnature, boomp, now there's a rat exploring.  she even managed to get into another cage that was on a stand in another room and it took me weeks to figure out how she did it.

and before her, honeybear was always being pushed off the cage.  every couple of weeks i would be licked awake... "mommy, um, could you put me back in my house. the others nudged me off again"
