sorry, but i thought it was pretty funny. just an ad, nothing to call PETA about.

he could have handled the rat a little better, however.

 HeHe   Grin

I thought it was cute .... if you read it says "It took 4 live rats and one mechanical replica to tell the story of one man's twisted triumph over the rodent world." So I can take it that the rats safety was a concern for them and no ratties were hurt.

 Embarrassed
To tell the truth altough there are people that check movie sets to see if the animls are treated alright a lot still get hurt or killed in movies.
Does anyone rember the movie the abyss about the under water drilling team, the military and some aliens well there was a rat in that movie ( actually they used several rats to play that one rat i think his name was peety or something like that. )
anways all the rats used in the scean for the breathing fluid were realy put in fluid and altohugh they servied the filming of that scean they all died later due to respatory problems. Sad

It actually looks to me like the one rat that was "handled" was the mechanical replica.  I say this only because it is making the same moves over & over again.

Then again, I could be wrong.  However, I still do not think that the "spot" was all that offensive.  Certainly no attempt to blow them up or shoot them or cut them open or anything gruesome like that.

I find the Abyss story a little sad.  I don't think there was any need to use a real rat for that.   Angry  I wonder whether or not the respiratory infections had anything to do with the water, though.  I don't think that there was as much information available about dangerous beddings when the movie was made, so...

Apparently, from a diver friend of mine, that liquid oxygen is used for humans frequently with no problem. The most it's supposed to cause is initial discomfort because mammals aren't used to breathing liquid. I'd kinda have to go with the bedding perhaps also.

Which now explains the "strange disease" all of our hamsters got which killed them prematurely.
