back to the topic at hand...

The lady I was talking with in Buffalo is, indeed, unable to procure a car, so she's not going to be able to meet me in Albany.  That said, my plan now is to drive up on July 4, stay over somewhere in the Buffalo area, and drive back July 5 in the morning (have to work that afternoon).  SO - We need to work out the CT to NY leg of this transport.  My schedule becomes fantastically limited starting this week and running through August.  I'm only going to be able to drive again on Saturdays until after July 19 .. And even then, on the 12th I probably won't be able to (my niece's first birthday, woohoO!!).  So, those involved, should we post this to the rat transport group, or do you just want to come meet me in like New Haven, BabyBlue?

Well according to the mapquest, New Haven CT is about hour and a half from me. I can easily pick them up myself then, then hopefully meet up with Drusilla to drop off her rats. I'll be holding the father for SugarPlum, and keeping a little girl from Kim then, right?

Only problem, it seems like this needs to happen on Sunday the 5th right? Because of the recent accident my car's in the shop, and I don't know when I'll be getting it back. And if I don't get it back I'll have to borrow one of my parents' cars, but I don't know yet what their schedule is like and if they'll be using their cars etc. I'll try to find out and let everyone know Smiley

RQ, around what time do you expect to get back on Sunday?

Should be Saturday the 5th.  I could probably be to New Haven somewhere around 2pm, perhaps a little earlier.  I'll have to time myself on the way up to Buffalo to get the exact time.  It's somewhere around six hours, plus an extra 1-1.5 hours to New Haven.  So maybe it'd be better to say 3-4pm.  I MAY have to work that afternoon, however, so I'm not 100% sure I can come all the way to New Haven on the 5th.. I'm sorry I can't nail it down bette,r but my boss is choosing to be coy.  I don't think I'll have to but I want it out on the table just in case.

Oh dear oh dear!!! We are away till Sunday afternoon the 6th! My friend Cheryl posted on the Transport List that she might be able to go to Connecticut to bring them to NYC and Queens. Do post on the Trans. List and I'll e-mail her and see if that is still a possibility. Feel free to e-mail me privately if it's more convenient!

Perhaps it would be better at this point to move to a group email rather than continuing to hash out details here?  If each of you sends me your email address I'll make a list and we can talk amongst ourselves.I'm not married to that July 5th date, but if it's during the week or on a Sunday then the amount of travel -I- can do within CT becomes very, very limited.  We'll get it all worked out.

*edit* I guess I should give my email addy then, hmm?  ratgrl@earthlink.net

Sat will actually be better for me I think, as I don't have to worry about not having a car then (my mom goes to church on Sun). Of course if someone can do the CT to NYC that'll be great too.

Drusilla, since I'm already holding 2 rats, I can easily keep your boys for a few days if you need. So we can just figure out how to meet between us, without having to worry about fitting it into the transport schedule Smiley

Definitely email me if you guys want to discuss this further. Babyblue033@hotmail.com

One of the little hairless males is in his new home right now.  Safe, sound and happily eating half a yogie (he's tiny!!) on my boyfriend's shoulder as he checks his e-mail.

Tongue

Thanks, Amy!  We'll send pictures.
