Looking for Rat Breeders in Virginia!
«

hi. i live near virginia beach, va, and i'm looking for one or two baby female rats as friend(s) to my current female (she's about 7 weeks). my current rat was bought from a breeder about 5min. away from me, which is rare, because virginia doesn't have many rat breeders that are close to me. yesterday (4/26), i went to look at another litter the breeder had, to reserve 2 females from it. i reserved 2 gorgeous girls, one was a blue roan looking female with a small white blaze, and the other was an albino siamese, with very rare markings. i don't breed rats, but now that i've seen all the more interesting colors, that's what i like. anyway, to make a long story short, the breeder called me today (4/27), and told me that the 2 i had reserved were the exact 2 that his fiance had decided to keep to breed. he said i'd be able to pick 2 others from the litter, and he'd take $1 off. but i'm extremely mad about this, because i'd gotten attached to these babies. plus, the other babies aren't very cute, and alot are males.
so now i'm trying to find a breeder, or someone that has baby rats near me. i'm looking for interesting colors/markings(dumbos,blazed,etc.), and only females. young is good, no older than 8 weeks please .. please e-mail me if you have any availible. it'd be nice if you had a picture or 2 also. thanks.

not trying to plug anything but...have you checked out Kim's rat rescue? Rescues need love too. We have a siamese who gave birth recently and the babies are probably going to be all himalayan (4 girls and 11 boys). And we have some lilac babies too (scroll to bottom)
She's located in MA during school time but lives in NJ. Check her out and email. She may work something out with you. All our animals are fully vetted and handled.

Hi!
I used to live in Virginia Beach until recently. I used to drop off Rat Fan Club brochures at the Pet Smart on Virginia Beach Blvd. and also at the Animal Medical Center.
I would highly recommend that you check the Virginia Beach SPCA--the last time I left some brochures with them (a couple of months ago), they had 12 rats in need of homes. Some of them were young ones, if that is what you prefer. They said they get rats in quite frequently.
Feel free to e-mail me privately if you have any questions or need any help. I hope that you will consider taking some rescues in.

Yup, lotta babies:everyone please remember that MALE and FEMALE equals BABIES and lots of em. And be careful when taking a female from petstores: she may be pregant even at 5 weeks if they "forget" to separate genders (even Petsmart can mis-sex).
She said in June she may be able to gt down there.

You might want to check out the pet store at Southern shopping center at Little Creek road and Tidewater dr. They have a huge selection of fancy rats, and they are very healthy, they are kept in carefresh which is changed every other day,I had trouble deciding on just two to take home,Good luck....

For that to be true, the rat would have to be a piebald. Piebald is an albino-like animal that still has some color. Of course, the breeder can call it whatever he/she likes.
