So one of the MP rats I recieved as my fosters had a limp leg, and still does, appears that he always will.

I was holding him to solcilize while Jeremy cleaned cages yesterday, pondering calling him "Tiny Tim" for the adoptions page.

Well it took Jeremy a while to clean his cage, because he was actually swapping rats in different cages at the same time.

"Tiny Tim" during this time was giving me kisses, and even curled up in a ball and almost fell asleep in my lap!!

SOOO I've now adopted a MP rat.  Roll Eyes  His name will not be Tiny Tim, on the fact we know a Tim we do not like.  I'm thinking about calling him Parker (from Menlo Park) but that just dosen't fit either. I might pick something California based for him.

Currently he's known as "Gimpy" lol...

He's still in his foster cage, but next week or so we plan on trying introductions. If all my crew won't get along, we'll take the mellower of my group and split them into 2 cages.

Heehee...anyways.... so after I promised Jeremy we'd get our resident rat count down to 5...I adopt another....back up to 8.  Roll Eyes

Oh "darn" back up to 8 huh? I think it's nice that you were fostering, now you've adopted so you'll know he'll ALWAYS have a good life. And he'll love you for it!  Blue Dumbo Smile  Heart

I think Tiny Tim is an adorable name.  Just call him Tiny for short if Tim bothers you so much. Wink

It's so easy to fall in love with fosters.  I'm glad you're keeping this one.  He sounds pretty special.  Besides, 8 isn't really very many (This from a person with 15 and little resistance to a cute face.)   Blue Dumbo Smile

Pictures are...

Still on the roll of film, and being I already have a stock pile of like 6 rolls (probably most of which are pics of my pets)...it'll be a while.   Roll Eyes

But he's a berkshire...with a gimpy hind leg. We still havn't chosen a definate name for him... still calling him Gimpy, which will not be his real name, even if that's what we end up "calling" him.  Tongue

I think he looks like this one.  This is not him; this one is Satan William, whom Linsey is fostering.

Anna-- Probably... did you have not many Berks? I's confused...     Tongue

We GOTTA think of a permanent name for him. I can't go around calling him Gimpy. Especially if he turns out to be my next "classroom rat".

"Hi kids, this is Gimpy, the domestic rat..."

LOL

I like the name Gimpy, it reminds me of the movie "Fly Away Home." Kind of a sappy movie, but one of the geese was named Gimpy, for obvious reasons. Cheeky

My vote is for Gimpster!   Yellow Cute Laugh

I met Satan William the Bloody last night.  Very handsome. He wasn't so bad.  I left with all my appendages.

LOL....yeah, he NEVER bite me (and I held him EVERY day for 3 weeks) until he was transported and had lots of people around Sad  He isn't such a bad guy but you should have seen him after he bit 3 of us...he had this blood stained chin and I tried for about 15 minutes to get a pic of it but he kept moving Sad  It would have been SO funny to have that image with the name Satan....lol

BTW, my finger is healing quite nicely Smiley

BOTH of my fingers are healing nicely...although Monday, the left one was swollen huge and full of puss    It looked so awful when I got to work that they sent me to get bandages and stuff hehe  Still can't bend it completely and every now and then it still splits open and leaks  Undecided   But it's not as swollen anymore and it really doesn't hurt (unless I try to bend it).

Anyways I don't hold a grudge. Smiley  I feel bad for the little fella.  I sooo wish we had gotten a pic of his bloody chin though LOL

Ha ha, well maybe William just dosen't like lots of people. He has an anxiety about it, maybe?  Wink  Jeremy could relate, though luckily he dosen't bite anyone.

Anyways, stop hijacking my thread!!  Tongue

We introduced him to the rest of my gang, and he got along GREAT with them, though I havn't put him in the cage with them yet. Only playtime.  I want them to get to know eachother very well before putting him in a 3 level cage with that game leg.

We introduced him to Blaze, who is still recovering from his illness alone in his cage, and although the new rat pinned him, they got along great. I just thought it was cute that Blaze, my once bully rat (but not necissarily alpha) got pinned by a gimpy rat!

ANYWAYS- so we also noticed he is missing a small part of his ear- it's at the base, so I hadn't noticed it yet. And he's still got a few big healthy scabs.  They must of been very deep bites, poor thing.

We were thinking about calling him Angel or Lucky or something along that lines. It's more fitting than Parker or Cruz seems to be.  So we're kinda calling him Angel temporarily... it might stick. We want to make sure his name has real meaning, after all he's been thru, and since it looks like he will always have a game leg... he's gonna be special. Well of course he already is.... Tongue

OH and Anna-  I find that so odd that you only had 2 black berks!  Of the 60 rats I found homes for previous to getting these- I had a WHOLE litter of black berks! It was really hard to get them adopted because they all looked alike-- FlyAway herself took FIVE black Berk girls, and I'm still amazed that she can (usually) tell them apart!  I still HAVE 2 black berk girls that I can't find homes for because I want them to go together, and they look alike.  I dunno.

I just would of thought that with as many rats as you rescued, you'd of had more black berks....

Nope, only two black berkie boys, and one girl. They were almost all hooded rats, mostly black hooded.

The Gimpinator
Mr. Gimpy

 Yellow Cute Laugh

We're still calling him Angel... so far....
